Prayer For The Holy Souls In Purgatory

03:25
In spanish https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOeIlzr-OWQ This is a very powerful and short prayer. All of us have relatives that have passed away and are unsure if they went to heaven, purgatory or hades. With this prayer we can help our deceased relatives shorten their time in purgatory and help free them! Purgatory is scriptured! If anyone does not believe in purgatory I challenge you to meditate on this topic. If you were baptized and are a spiritual person I'm sure you will be convicted by the Holy Spirit and guided in the right direction. I strongly believe in purgatory and I encourage everyone to read the info contained on the websites below and educate yourselves. Once I realized the importance of praying for the holy souls in prison (purgatory) I decided to make this short video so people can download this video and install it in there mp3 players and pray this daily as many times as possible. St. Gertrude http://www.olrl.org/pray/stgertrude.shtml http://www.ourcatholicprayers.com/prayers-for-souls-in-purgatory.html http://www.holysouls.com/prayers.htm http://www.catholictradition.org/Gertrude/saint-gertrude7.htm (2 Maccabees 12:38-45 NRSV Prayers for Those Killed in Battle 38 Then Judas assembled his army and went to the city of Adullam. As the seventh day was coming on, they purified themselves according to the custom, and kept the sabbath there. 39 On the next day, as had now become necessary, Judas and his men went to take up the bodies of the fallen and to bring them back to lie with their kindred in the sepulchres of their ancestors. 40 Then under the tunic of each one of the dead they found sacred tokens of the idols of Jamnia, which the law forbids the Jews to wear. And it became clear to all that this was the reason these men had fallen. 41 So they all blessed the ways of the Lord, the righteous judge, who reveals the things that are hidden; 42 and they turned to supplication, praying that the sin that had been committed might be wholly blotted out. The noble Judas exhorted the people to keep themselves free from sin, for they had seen with their own eyes what had happened as the result of the sin of those who had fallen. 43 He also took up a collection, man by man, to the amount of two thousand drachmas of silver, and sent it to Jerusalem to provide for a sin offering. In doing this he acted very well and honorably, taking account of the resurrection. 44 For if he were not expecting that those who had fallen would rise again, it would have been superfluous and foolish to pray for the dead. 45 But if he was looking to the splendid reward that is laid up for those who fall asleep in godliness, it was a holy and pious thought. Therefore he made atonement for the dead, so that they might be delivered from their sin.) Notice the noble Judas blessed the ways of the Lord and turned to supplication, praying to blott out the fallen soldiers of their sin. He took up a collection and provided for a sin offering. God says that in doing this he acted very well and honorably! If God says He acted very well and honorably in doing this why should we question it? For if Judas was not expecting them to rise again it would have been superfluous and foolish to pray for the dead but It was a holy and pious thought and he made atonement for the dead! God says that it was a pious thought and he (Judas) Made atonement for the dead! He didn't say he attempted to make atonement. Jesus Christ encourages us to pray for the holy souls that are suffering in prison in the new testament as well! People read this verse and think it refers to the prisons on earth but it clearly refers to the spiritual suffering in (prison) purgatory. (Hebrews 13: 3 Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; those who are being tortured, as though you yourselves were being tortured.) The word of God says those who are being tortured. The People in the prisons on earth are not being tortured! They eat 2 or 3 meals a day, watch tv. Lift weights and go out of the cells to the yard. (1 Peter 3: 18 For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit, 19 in which also he went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison, 20 who in former times did not obey, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water.) Jesus Christ went himself to make a proclamation to the holy souls in prison during the 3 days following His crucifixion on the cross. Christ visited the holy souls in prison (Purgatory) that had being there since the days of the building of the Arc way back in the book of Genesis 6:13-14! How many thousands of years was that to the date of Jesus crucifixion? He would not have gone to proclaim to the souls that had been in prison (purgatory) if it would have been in vain.

Compline Divine Office or Night Prayer.wmv

13:19
I hope you can enjoy this format of the Divine Office of Compline. It is the last of 7 Offices of the day for the Monks and Nuns. Their days work and life is fitted around these Offices and each service is beautifully set for the time of day. Example at Vigil's we can show God our willingness to praise him in the very early hours 3:30am when most are asleep and the office of Compline is our final prayers before retiring, where we can ask God to protect us while we sleep. It is a wonderful structure for life, even if this modern day world that fights this type of devotions as old and antiquated. I have found that the old ways can be the best, even if they are demanding effort to complete. I cannot follow all of the hours but try to do Lauds at 8am and Compline at 7:30 pm and Vespers if possible at 5pm. May God bless you all. Brian - Texas - USA.

The Forgotten

04:18
The song is by Michael Card. O merciful God, take pity on those souls who have no particular friends and intercessors to recommend them to Thee, who, either through the negligence of those who are alive, or through length of time are forgotten by their friends and by all. Spare them, O Lord, and remember Thine own mercy, when others forget to appeal to it. Let not the souls which Thou hast created be parted from thee, their Creator. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

My Evening Prayer by Sara Hart

04:19
My Evening Prayer God, be in my head and in my understanding. Be my every thought and be my evening prayer. In the darkness, alone with the moon and the stars, let me know that you are here. Be in my head, God, be my everything. God, be in my heart as I lay deep in slumber. Let shadows depart and sweetest dreams be mine. Send the angels to breathe heaven's peace into me. Through the night, Father, be Be in my heart, God, fill my every dream. God, be in my eyes when I awake to morning. And be first in my sight, all that I long to see. Seeking out only that which is lovely and true, all the beauty of you here, Here be in my eyes and in my head and in my heart. God, be my understanding. Pictures taken in Fatima, Ourem, Lisieux, Chartres, Assisi, Rome, Manila, Baguio City, Nashville area, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, La Jolla, Oxford and Woodstock, UK--- and a couple of stock photos from google images.

Stillness - Meditation, Prayer, Worship

01:06:40
Part one: Stillness Practice Session 00:00 ~ 33:12 Part two: The Seven Steps of Stillness 33:12 ~ end. Stillness: The gradual practice of locking the mind to spirit, a technique or tool for the mind to make contact, to commune with the internal Fragment of God. When you recognize that your mind is overextended and scattered, that is a signal that you have need of contact with your Father. Seek through the practice of stillness, that quiet communion with Father, while He nurtures you, fills you with divine love, answers your deep longings, and gives you what your Soul needs,—needs that you may not be aware of enough to ask. Stillness is a personality state of being, it is a focus on the Father, a preparation of the mind and body for the soul to enter into sanctuary and communion; it heightens sensitivity to the divine presence of the internal God Fragment. Once you have mastered the art of continuous God-consciousness, of being able to quickly commune with the Father at will, as did Jesus, then the technique of stillness may no longer be necessary, however it may remain valuable for those deeper longings of personal contact with Father. http://harpofgod.org/stillness.html What is Stillness? Monjoronson: "I thank you for that redundant question. Stillness is a greater source of awareness. The greater source of awareness is not so much in the result, it is in the ability to perform in the process. It's the ability to be able to find and exercise process to control your mental activity to control your thoughts to hone in your ability to focus, to use the extraneous mental capacity that rarely gets used. In accessing this part of the mind and by strengthening its working within your mind, it is intended to balance the neural energies as they are coordinated with activities of thinking and perception of external stimulus such as hearing and seeing something which causes you to overreact or to have the ability to not overreact, to consciously be able to hold the space of consciousness which allows you to access wisdom; to either hold your tongue, control your emotions and therefore make the correct choice in deciding how to deal with these things. So stillness does access a greater awareness but again, the importance is in the practice of shutting down the mind chatter, the recurrent tape patterning within the mind, the definition of your boundaries within your mind to expand and use other abilities which the mind possesses, to access the greater part of the unused mind, there are muscles which must be exercised and used. So it is intended that this explanation clarify somewhat the process in stillness in terms of the internal out-workings of this effect within the human mind. Thank you for this."

Panikhida Part 2 - Prayers for the Departed

06:40
Panikhida Service - Prayers for the Departed On the third, ninth, and fortieth days after death: Again a "Panikhida" is generally celebrated on these days. A "Panikhida" may, of course, be celebrated at any other convenient time as well. [The observance of a 40-day "official" period of mourning after the death of a loved one is a very ancient and somewhat widely-practiced one. For example, members of the Jewish faith retain a similar period of mourning known as "Shiva." During this mourning period the family receives visitors in their home, with whom they "sit Shiva" in honor of the newly-departed.] On the sixth month anniversary of death and the annual anniversary of death: A "Panikhida" is usually celebrated at these times. Many Orthodox Christians offer a "Panikhida" every year on the anniversary of a loved one's death, celebrating in a certain sense their "birthday" into life eternal. At any other appropriate time: A "Panikhida" may be celebrated at any time as requested by the family. For example, many people celebrate such services on special days associated with the life of the departed, such as the anniversary of his or her birth, wedding anniversary, etc. It is also customary to celebrate such services in conjunction with the dedication of the cross placed on the departed person's grave, together with special prayers of blessing. On Church-appointed "Memorial Saturdays": There are five Saturdays during the course of the year dedicated to the departed. On these Saturdays it is customary to celebrate the Divine Liturgy followed by a "Panikhida" for all the faithful departed. At every Divine Liturgy: There are petitions in the Litany which follows the Gospel and Homily in which the departed are remembered. In many parishes it is possible to add the names of the departed to a special list for commemoration at that time. In some parishes an additional "Litany for the Departed" is on occasion added to the Liturgy. Finally, in the preparation of the eucharistic bread, which occurs before the public portion of the Divine Liturgy, the priest takes particles of bread, each commemorating one of the faithful departed, and places them on the diskos, or special plate, on which the bread which will later become the Body of Christ is placed. As the priest removes each particle he mentions the name of a specific departed individual, generally from lists of names submitted before the beginning of the Liturgy by the faithful. The Fifteen Prayers of Saint Bridget of Sweden: Part 2 of 3

04:29
"I received 5480 blows on My Body. If you wish to honor them in some way, say 15 Our Fathers and 15 Hail Marys with the following Prayers for a whole year. When the year is up, you will have honored each one of My Wounds." (Jesus, to Saint Bridget.) These beautiful prayers take less than twenty minutes each day. Sometimes I like to say five in the morning, five in the afternoon, and five in the evening. (The prayers are written below, if you'd like to follow along.) Here's the list of Our Lord's promises to those who recite these prayers for a year: http://www.catholictradition.org/Passion/bridget.htm O Jesus! beloved and most desirable King, remember the grief You suffered, when naked and like a common criminal, You were fastened and raised on the Cross, when all Your relatives and friends abandoned You, except Your beloved Mother, who remained close to You during Your agony and whom You entrusted to Your faithful disciple when You said to Mary: "Woman, behold your son!" and to Saint John: "Son, behold your Mother!" I beg of You O my Savior, by the sword of sorrow which pierced the soul of Your holy Mother, to have compassion on me in all my afflictions and tribulations , both corporal and spiritual, and to assist me in all my trials, and especially at the hour of my death. Amen. O Jesus! inexhaustible fountain of compassion, Who by a profound gesture of love, said from the Cross: "I thirst," suffered from the thirst for the salvation of the human race, I beg of You, O my Savior, to inflame in our hearts the desire to tend toward perfection in all our acts, and to extinguish in us the concupiscence of the flesh and the ardor of worldly desires. Amen. O Jesus! sweetness of hearts, delight of the spirit, by the bitterness of the gall and vinegar which You tasted on the Cross for love of us, grant us the grace to receive worthily Your precious Body and Blood during our life and at the hour of our death, that they may serve as a remedy and consolation for our souls. Amen. O Jesus! royal virtue, joy of the mind, recall the pain You endured when plunged in an ocean of bitterness at the approach of death, insulted, outraged by the Jews, You cried out in a loud voice that You were abandoned by Your Father, saying: "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" Through this anguish, I beg of You, O my Savior, not to abandon me in the terrors and pains of my death. Amen. O Jesus! Who are the beginning and the end of all things, life and virtue, remember that for our sakes You were plunged in an abyss of suffering from the souls of your feet to the crown of Your head. In consideration of the enormity of Your wounds, teach me to keep, through pure love, Your commandments, whose way is wide and easy for those who love You. Amen. The Fifteen Prayers of Saint Bridget of Sweden: Part 1 of 3

06:11
"I received 5480 blows on My Body. If you wish to honor them in some way, say 15 Our Fathers and 15 Hail Marys with the following Prayers for a whole year. When the year is up, you will have honored each one of My Wounds." (Jesus, to Saint Bridget.) These beautiful prayers take less than twenty minutes each day. Sometimes I like to say five in the morning, five in the afternoon, and five in the evening. (The prayers are written below, if you'd like to follow along.) Here's the list of Our Lord's promises to those who recite these prayers for a year: http://www.catholictradition.org/Passion/bridget.htm O Jesus Christ! eternal sweetness to those who love who You, joy surpassing all joy and all desire, salvation and hope of all sinners, who proved that You have no greater desire than to be among men, even assuming human nature at the fullness of time for the love of men, recall all the sufferings You endured from the instant of Your conception and especially during Your Passion, as it was decreed and ordained from eternity in the Divine plan. Remember, O Lord, that during the Last Supper with Your disciples, having washed their feet, You gave them Your most precious Body and Blood, and while at the same time You sweetly consoled them, You foretold to them Your coming passion. Remember the sadness and bitterness which You experienced in Your soul as You Yourself bore witness, saying: "My soul is sorrowful even unto death." Remember all the fear, anguish, and pain that You suffered in Your delicate Body before the torment of the crucifixion, when after having prayed three times, bathed in a sweat of blood, You were betrayed by Judas, Your disciple, arrested by the people of a nation You had chosen and elevated, accused by false witnesses, unjustly judged by three judges during the flower of Your youth, and during the solemn Paschal season. Remember that You were despoiled of Your garments and clothed in those of derision, that Your face and eyes were veiled, that You were buffeted, crowned with thorns, a reed placed in Your hands, that You were crushed with blows and overwhelmed with affronts and outrages. In memory of all these pains and sufferings which You endured before Your Passion on the Cross, grant me before my death true contrition, a sincere and entire confession, worthy satisfaction, and the remission of all my sins. Amen. O Jesus! true liberty of Angels, paradise of delights, remember the horror and sadness which You endured when Your enemies, like furious lions, surrounded You, and by thousands of insults, spits, blows, lacerations, and other unheard-of cruelties, tormented You at will. In consideration of these torments and insulting words, I beseech You, O my Savior, to deliver me from all my enemies, visible and invisible, and to bring me, under Your protection, to the perfection of eternal salvation. Amen. O Jesus! Creator of heaven and earth Whom nothing can encompass or limit, Who enfold and hold all under Your loving power, remember the very bitter pain You suffered when the Jews nailed Your sacred hands and feet to the cross by blow after blow with big blunt nails, and not finding You in a pitiable enough state to satisfy their rage, they enlarged Your wounds, and added pain to pain, and with indescribable cruelty stretched Your Body on the Cross, pulling You from all sides, thus dislocating Your limbs. I beg of You, O Jesus, by the memory of this most loving suffering of the Cross, to grant me the grace to fear You and to love You. Amen. O Jesus! heavenly Physician, raised aloft on the Cross to heal our wounds with Yours, remember the bruises which You suffered and the weakness of all Your members which were distended to such a degree that never was their pain like unto Yours. From the crown of Your head to the soles of Your feet, there was not one spot on Your body that was not in torment, and yet, forgetting all Your sufferings, You did not cease to pray to Your Heavenly Father for Your enemies, saying: "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." Through this great mercy, and in memory of this suffering, grant that the remembrance of Your most bitter Passion may effect in us the perfect contrition and the remission of all our sins. Amen. O Jesus! mirror of eternal splendor, remember the sadness which You experienced, when contemplating in the light of Your Divinity the predestination of those who would be saved by the merits of Your sacred Passion, You saw at the same time, the great multitude of reprobates who would be damned for their sins, and You complained bitterly of those hopeless, lost, and unfortunate sinners. Through this abyss of compassion and pity, and especially through the goodness which You displayed to the good thief when You said to him: "This day you shall be with Me in Paradise," I beg of You, O sweet Jesus, that at the hour of my death, You will show me mercy. Amen. Music from The Passion of The Christ soundtrack, by John Debney.

Gospel Brunch - Oprah Winfrey's Legends Ball 2005 - Changed

06:28
The final day of Oprah Winfrey's Legends Ball was a Sunday afternoon gospel brunch hosted on her estate front lawn. The culmination of a 3-day celebration honoring African American women in art, entertainment, and civil rights, the on-stage gospel performance slowly leaked into the crowd, inspiring a chain of impromptu musical testimony from the world's greatest gospel, soul, and R&B female singers. Favorite moments include Dionne Warwick, Shirley Caesar, Patti LaBelle, Yolanda Adams, Chaka Khan, and Gladys Knight each contributing their unique interpretation of the gospel standard "Changed." The 2005 Legends Ball event included a luncheon at Oprah's house, a white-tie evening ball, and this Sunday afternoon gospel brunch. The 25 women honored included Maya Angelou, Shirley Caesar, Diahann Carroll, Elizabeth Catlett, Ruby Dee, Katherine Dunham, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Nikki Giovanni, Dorothy Height, Lena Horne, Coretta Scott King, Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, Toni Morrison, Rosa Parks, Leontyne Price, Della Reese, Diana Ross, Melba Moore, Naomi Sims, Tina Turner, Cicely Tyson, Alice Walker, Dionne Warwick, and Nancy Wilson.

SAINT FAUSTINA KOWALSKA AND THE RETURN OF JESUS

11:07
http://www.geocities.ws/iesvs/RETURN.htm (428) You will prepare the world for My final coming. (83) Write this: before I come as the just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy. Before the day of justice arrives, there will be given to people a sign in the heavens of this sort: (83) All light in the sky will be extinguished, and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the sign of the cross will be seen in the sky, (83) and from the openings where the hands and the feet of the Savior were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth for a period of time. (83) This will take place shortly before the last day. (1058) Let the weak, sinful soul have no fear to approach Me, for even if it had more sins than there are grains of sand in the world, all would be drowned in the unmeasurable depths of My mercy. (1447) Were a soul like a decaying corpse so that from a human standpoint, there would be no [hope of] restoration and everything would already be lost, it is not so with God. (1447) The miracle of Divine Mercy restores that soul in full. Oh, how miserable are those who do not take advantage of the miracle of God's mercy! You will call out in vain, but it will be too late. (625) In the evening, when I was praying, the Mother of God told me, Your lives must be like Mine: quiet and hidden, in unceasing union with God, pleading for humanity and preparing the world for the second coming of God. (848) My daughter. Speak to the world about My mercy; let all mankind recognize My unfathomable mercy. It is a sign for the end times; after it will come the day of justice. While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fount of My mercy; (963) Secretary of My mercy, write, tell souls about this great mercy of Mine, because the awful day, the day of My justice, is near. (635) you have to speak to the world about His great mercy and prepare the world for the Second Coming of Him who will come, not as a merciful Savior, but as a just Judge. Oh, how terrible is that day! (635) Determined is the day of justice, the day of divine wrath. The angels tremble before it. Speak to souls about this great mercy while it is still the time for [granting] mercy.
