Pope Francis urges Christians to pray for the forgotten ones as he conducts Angelus on the day when Catholics all over the world remember the dead. Full Story: A glorious Roman sun shone over St. Peter's Square on Sunday, as huge crowds gathered at the Vatican for Pope Francis' weekly Angelus prayer. Sunday's event also fell on All Souls' Day, the day Catholics around the world pay homage to the dead. The pope, who on Saturday visited Rome's main cemetery where he celebrated an All Saints' Day Mass, said many Christians were honouring their loved ones over the weekend. However, he urged them also to pay homage to the forgotten people, including victims of war. "Today we are called to remember everyone, to remember everyone, including those whom no one remembers," Pope Francis said. "We remember the victims of wars and violence; many of the "little ones" of the world, crushed by hunger and poverty. We remember the anonymous ones who rest in the common ossuaries. We remember our brothers and sisters killed because they are Christians and those who sacrificed their lives to serve others. We, especially, entrust to the Lord those who have left us over the last year". Francis blessed the large crowds from the windows of the papal apartments before delivering his now trademark parting greetings of "please pray for me" and "have a good lunch". Roman Catholics traditionally visit cemeteries and remember those who have passed away on All Souls' Day on November 2, while Christian saints are honoured on All Saints' Day on November 1. Carlton Pearson After college at the Oral Roberts University in Tulsa Oklahoma he served for 15 years on its Board of Regents, and two years as Associate Evangelist of The Oral Roberts Association, (ORA). In 1977, Pearson founded Higher Dimensions Ministries (now New Dimensions ), in Tulsa, which grew to over 5,000. Bishop Pearson was consecrated to the office of Bishop in 1996 thru a College of Bishops headed by Bishop Charles E Blake, presently the Presiding Bishop of the Churches of God In Christ, the denomination he was raised in and through whom he was ordained in 1971. In 1993, Carlton married the former Gina Marie Gauthier who is a professional Life Coach and Yoga teacher. More recently, he has felt a passion to proclaim the "Gospel Of Inclusion" and has written a widely acclaimed book by that name, published by Simon and Schuster. It confronts the Christian church's exclusivism as being inconsistent, in spirit with the teachings of Jesus. Pearson's frank and often controversial take on a number of different subjects has earned him appearances on television programs such as NBC and MSNBC's Dateline, ABC's Nightline, 20/20, Good Morning America, CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, BET Tonight with Tavis Smiley, The Edge with Paula Zahn and Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, The Monique Show on BET, and a number of other television, radio and print media outlets. Bishop Pearson was recognized as one of America's 10 Most Influential Black Ministers by Gospel Today and Belief.net. He has received several honorary doctoral degrees. All Hallows Eve, All Souls Day Ritual Of Remembrance and Gratitude.

Here is the Remembrance and Gratitude Project I was working on. It's done. It was inspired from a ritual of making prayer ties when one has a vision quest or special ceremony to do like a sweat lodge. It is a branch from the Cottonwood that I started from a seed that is now over 50 feet tall. There are hundreds of little cloth packages attached to it, each with a piece of paper with a name on it and a pinch of sacred herbs (tobacco, sage, cedar and sweet grass). Then it is tied and attached to the branch. There were a lot of people I wanted to remember, honor, thank and call upon for power and strength. Some are still with me, some have passed over already. They are family, relatives, friends, neighbors, some people I never met. I am sure I will add more. The bells signify that those pasted over are still with us in spirit, the feathers are the Native American 4 Directions which acknowledge all our relations from the 4 corners of life, the four elements, the four races, the four kingdoms: the Plants, The Human, The Animals, and the Minerals. All these we are connected to in more ways than we can imagine. It is a vast tapestry of threads, experiences and influences. This evening I put it on my Samhain or All Hallows Eve Altar and I smudged it with sage and said prayers and made words of gratitude and remembrance. Tomorrow I plan to take this bow of remembrance out to the 4 Directions that I have made in the yard and have a ritual tomorrow night when I get home from the Halloween Parade and then again on All Souls Day. This is a time of subtle influences and when the veil of the spirit and material world become very thin and porous. Spirits can pass through, not all good. I made a special bag of protective herbs to carry with me, the Jack O Lanterns and Sage Smoke and prayers for protection for us here at home and when we travel. I have noticed that I am somewhat agitated and prone to negative reactions and thinking toward others. I have been meditating so I think that this is a normal thing, as feelings and toxic emotions are coming to the surface and being released and nullified at the same time. It is time to forgive, and thank everyone in our past for being there and helping us in our life to become the people we are today. I see now that I do not exist in isolation but am part of a larger whole, an expansion of growth and learning. I know this is all very deep but that is where I am this Halloween. Almighty God: Our sons, pride of our Nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity. Lead them straight and true; give strength to their arms, stoutness to their hearts, steadfastness in their faith. They will need Thy blessings. Their road will be long and hard. And so we have done it also here in Germany for Tatang's 40 Days Death Anniversary. This is my last greeting to my Father in Law (May 31 , 2014 ) "iPray" Dear Tatang, I thank you for taking care of Mina when she was growing up, and you allowed me to marry her. Also thank you for taking care of Kevin, in the times when I was working abroad, and he could be with you and Mina together in the Philippines. Thanks that you have built a swimming pool for Kevin, and have spent your time with him and were such a good grandfather. I miss you. I will always love you. Every year, on the evening of All Souls Day, the Saint Lawrence Seminary community gathers to commemorate those who have passed through death into life everlasting. Included in our All Souls Day tradition are the names of deceased loved ones of Benefactors, Alumni and Seminary staff. As the names of departed loved ones are called out, a young man will come forward, light a taper from the great Paschal candle, and place it in a box of sand before the altar. As the prayer service continues, the chapel grows bright with the added light of each boy’s candle. As you will see, this is a powerful and emotional evening prayer for our seminary community and one we feel honored to share with you. FoNC will open the Chapel Interpretation Centre which is located at Newark cemetery for an exhibition of Polish pictures. Newark Cemetery remained open until 8:00pm - 20:00pm, so visitors can see the wonderful lights glow in the evening. Candles had been lit in front of so many gravestones of second world war victims at the Commonwealth War Graves section of the cemetery. They are often placed on individual graves of the 400 Polish airmen and paratroopers. This year, candles were also placed by the headstones of 90 soldiers from Commonwealth nations, who died as a result of the conflict. Candles were placed, too, on the headstones of some of the 41 civilians who died in the Luftwaffe bombing raid on the Ransome and Marles ball-bearing factory in Newark 1941, as well as at the graves of first world war casualties. The service, organised by Newark Town Council on behalf of the Polish Air Force Association, is based around the memorial cross dedicated to Polish airmen. It was installed in 1941 at the former grave of Polish wartime leader General Wladyslaw Sikorski. He was buried in Newark following his death in a plane crash off Gibraltar in 1943. General Sikorski’s body was repatriated to his homeland on 14th September 1993. A procession of guests carrying standards marched from the cemetery gates at London Road on Sunday to the war graves for a service led by the Polish Air Force Memorial Committee.The ceremony included speeches by the chairman of the Polish Air Force Memorial Committee, Mr Richard Kornicki, and the Mayor of Newark. Polish Airmen During The 2nd World War Are Remembered: Commonwealth and Polish War Graves (Air Force) - Newark, Notts, England Nearly 400 hundred Polish Airmen from the 2nd World War lie buried in the war graves cemetery at Newark, Nottinghamshire, England. A memorial Cross with the words - For Freedom - Remembers their Sacrifice. “Many that rest here will have known extreme heartache before their deaths. It’s fitting they should have a peaceful resting place. “The candles signify that our prayers are with them all.” Father Krzysztof Kawczynski said prayers for fallen airmen and paratroopers before the role of honour was read. The Last Post was played ahead of a one minute's silence. Wreaths were laid at General Sikorski’s former grave. Among dignitaries at the ceremony were representatives of the Polish ambassador and Polish Consular Services will Remember them at All Souls' Day which will be held on Sunday 28th October 2018 at 3pm. At the annual All Souls’ day ceremony of homage and remembrance, we will light lanterns in the Commonwealth and Polish war graves also up the driveway during the evening.
