SQLPLUS: LineSize & PageSize

03:49
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to set linesize and pagesize . PL/SQL (Procedural Language/Structured Query Language) is Oracle Corporation's procedural extension for SQL and the Oracle relational database. PL/SQL is available in Oracle Database (since version 7), TimesTen in-memory database (since version 11.2.1), and IBM DB2 (since version 9.7).[1] Oracle Corporation usually extends PL/SQL functionality with each successive release of the Oracle Database. PL/SQL includes procedural language elements such as conditions and loops. It allows declaration of constants and variables, procedures and functions, types and variables of those types, and triggers. It can handle exceptions (runtime errors). Arrays are supported involving the use of PL/SQL collections. Implementations from version 8 of Oracle Database onwards have included features associated with object-orientation. One can create PL/SQL units such as procedures, functions, packages, types, and triggers, which are stored in the database for reuse by applications that use any of the Oracle Database programmatic interfaces. PL/SQL works analogously to the embedded procedural languages associated with other relational databases. For example, Sybase ASE and Microsoft SQL Server have Transact-SQL, PostgreSQL has PL/pgSQL (which emulates PL/SQL to an extent), and IBM DB2 includes SQL Procedural Language,[2] which conforms to the ISO SQL’s SQL/PSM standard. The designers of PL/SQL modeled its syntax on that of Ada. Both Ada and PL/SQL have Pascal as a common ancestor, and so PL/SQL also resembles Pascal in several aspects. However, the structure of a PL/SQL package does not resemble the basic Object Pascal program structure as implemented by a Borland Delphi or Free Pascal unit. Programmers can define public and private global data-types, constants and static variables in a PL/SQL package.[3] PL/SQL also allows for the definition of classes and instantiating these as objects in PL/SQL code. This resembles usage in object-oriented programming languages like Object Pascal, C++ and Java. PL/SQL refers to a class as an "Abstract Data Type" (ADT) or "User Defined Type" (UDT), and defines it as an Oracle SQL data-type as opposed to a PL/SQL user-defined type, allowing its use in both the Oracle SQL Engine and the Oracle PL/SQL engine. The constructor and methods of an Abstract Data Type are written in PL/SQL. The resulting Abstract Data Type can operate as an object class in PL/SQL. Such objects can also persist as column values in Oracle database tables. PL/SQL is fundamentally distinct from Transact-SQL, despite superficial similarities. Porting code from one to the other usually involves non-trivial work, not only due to the differences in the feature sets of the two languages,[4] but also due to the very significant differences in the way Oracle and SQL Server deal with concurrency and locking. There are software tools available that claim to facilitate porting including Oracle Translation Scratch Editor,[5] CEITON MSSQL/Oracle Compiler [6] and SwisSQL.[7] The StepSqlite product is a PL/SQL compiler for the popular small database SQLite. PL/SQL Program Unit A PL/SQL program unit is one of the following: PL/SQL anonymous block, procedure, function, package specification, package body, trigger, type specification, type body, library. Program units are the PL/SQL source code that is compiled, developed and ultimately executed on the database. The basic unit of a PL/SQL source program is the block, which groups together related declarations and statements. A PL/SQL block is defined by the keywords DECLARE, BEGIN, EXCEPTION, and END. These keywords divide the block into a declarative part, an executable part, and an exception-handling part. The declaration section is optional and may be used to define and initialize constants and variables. If a variable is not initialized then it defaults to NULL value. The optional exception-handling part is used to handle run time errors. Only the executable part is required. A block can have a label. Package Packages are groups of conceptually linked functions, procedures, variables, PL/SQL table and record TYPE statements, constants, cursors etc. The use of packages promotes re-use of code. Packages are composed of the package specification and an optional package body. The specification is the interface to the application; it declares the types, variables, constants, exceptions, cursors, and subprograms available. The body fully defines cursors and subprograms, and so implements the specification. Two advantages of packages are: Modular approach, encapsulation/hiding of business logic, security, performance improvement, re-usability. They support object-oriented programming features like function overloading and encapsulation. Using package variables one can declare session level (scoped) variables, since variables declared in the package specification have a session scope.

vmsplice with transparent huge pages - Robert Jennings, IBM

03:52
"vmsplice() could move (rather can copy) pages between processes, but performance would be greatly improved if this supported THP. QEMU is looking to use vmsplice to move pages from one process to another. QEMU will use this to move a VM to an updated QEMU executable (security fix) with minimal downtime. This approach flips pages without copying but as it uses pipe buffers it operates on 4K (or base PAGE_SIZE) pages only. I would like to discuss solutions to improve this page flipping where one possible option is to change pipe buffers to support transparent huge pages." http://www.linuxplumbersconf.org/2013/

Use the buttons Move Up and Move Up or the context menu entries to arrange the documents order. You can merge PDF files together or just select some of their pages, to do that double click on the Page ranges cell and specify the pages you want to merge, i.e. if don't need the whole document but you only want to merge some pages. Pages can be specified in the form of comma separated page ranges like 2-13,17 if you need pages from 2 to 13 and page 17. You can use the syntax 20- if you need pages from page 20 to the end of the document. Encrypted documents Encrypted PDF documents show a icon on their right. You can merge them by providing the unlock password and to do so just click on the lock icon. Merge settings Most users won't need to change these settings but it may come helpful to know what is their purpose. Add a blank page if page number is odd: with this option you can tell PDFsam Basic to add a blank page after every merged PDF whose page number is odd Interactive forms: If some of the merging PDF documents contain an AcroForm, this options tells PDFsam what to do with them. You can discard the forms if they are not needed, you can merge them together allowing fields with the same name or you can merge them renaming fields with the same name to avoid names clashes Outline (Bookmarks): with this option you can tell PDFsam what to do with the documents outline (bookmakrs). Retain: bookmarks trees from the input PDF documents can be retained and merged together Discard: bookmarks are discarded saving some byte Create one entry for each merged document: a new outline containing a bookmark entry for each merged PDF document is created. Each entry pointing to the first page of the merged document Retain bookmarks as one entry for each document: a new outline containing a bookmark entry for each merged PDF document is created. Each entry will contain the whole outline of the merged document Generated document In Destination file users can choose the name of the resulting PDF document and few other options. Merge! Once all the options are properly set you can merge the PDF files by clicking the Run button. If no error occurs, the progress bar will grow until it is fully colored and a friendly ding sound will tell you that your merged PDF is ready.

Hacking the Oracle Application Framework - OWASP AppSecUSA 2014

34:13
Recorded at AppSecUSA 2014 in Denver http://2014.appsecusa.org/ Friday, September 19 • 2:00pm - 2:45pm Hacking the Oracle Application Framework: A case study in deep-dive pen testing The Oracle Application Framework (OAF) is the base of dozens of Oracle’s web-based business applications (the eBusiness Suite) and is used by many other organizations to develop their own in-house applications. Last year, the speaker published a major vulnerability (CVE-2013-xxxx) in the framework that allowed inspect inspection of run-time data. Unpublished at the time, the vulnerability also allowed unauthenticated attackers to impersonate any user with an active session, including administrators. Why had such a critical vulnerability in a major application framework gone undiscovered for so long? The OAF has a huge install base in large companies, so it had undoubtedly been tested and scanned many times before. Attack complexity wasn’t a factor; once documented, the exploit was profoundly simple to use. In fact, while the functionality was poorly documented, the vulnerability was actually DESIGNED as part of OAF. So, again, why did it take so long to discover? The answer can be found by looking at how most application testing is performed. Traditional black-box testing is only capable of discovering vulnerabilities that sit on the surface of the user interface. A relatively simple application, such as a blog or online store, will have limited functionality beyond the obvious user interface. This is radically different in enterprise-scale applications that must support complex integration with other applications and platforms. Additionally, while superficial penetration testing of the user interface is sufficient to protect an application against casual attackers, a dedicated attacker will certainly dig deeper. This easier with off-the-shelf software (like OAF) that can be downloaded, evaluated, or pirated by attackers. To fully test a complex application, advanced techniques are required. Static reverse engineering, mock environment creation, and dynamic monitoring are all essential components in any comprehensive application test. Using the Oracle Application Framework as a case study, deep-dive techniques will be explained and demonstrated in this presentation. A live environment will be provided for attendees who want to hack along with the presentation and during the rest of the day. Speaker David Byrne Principal Consultant, SpiderLabs David Byrne has worked in information security for 14 years. Currently, he is a Managing Consultant in SpiderLabs, Trustwave’s advanced security team focused on application security, penetration testing, and incident response. David’s primary responsibility is setting SpiderLabs’ global standards for delivery of application security services. Before Trustwave, David was the Security Architect at Dish Network, one of the world’s largest satellite television companies. - Managed by the official OWASP Media Project https://www.owasp.org/index.php/OWASP_Media_Project

Part 18 Load xml data into sql server table using sqlbulkcopy

11:58
In this video we will discuss 1. What is the use of SqlBulkCopy class 2. Loading xml data into sql server table using sqlbulkcopy What is the use of SqlBulkCopy class SqlBulkCopy class is used to bulk copy data from different data sources to SQL Server database. This class is present in System.Data.SqlClient namespace. This class can be used to write data only to SQL Server tables. However, the data source is not limited to SQL Server, any data source can be used, as long as the data can be loaded to a DataTable instance or read with a IDataReader instance. From a performance standpoint, SqlBulkCopy makes it very easy and efficient to copy large amounts of data. Loading xml data into sql server table using sqlbulkcopy The following are the steps to achieve this using SqlBulkCopy class Step 1 : Create the database tables using the following sql script Create table Departments ( ID int primary key, Name nvarchar(50), Location nvarchar(50) ) GO Create table Employees ( ID int primary key, Name nvarchar(50), Gender nvarchar(50), DepartmentId int foreign key references Departments(Id) ) GO Step 2 : Create a new empty asp.net web application project. Name it Demo. Step 3 : Add a new xml file to the project. Name it Data.xml. Copy and paste the following XML. [?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?] [Data] [Department Id="1"] [Name]IT[/Name] [Location]New York[/Location] [/Department] [Department Id="2"] [Name]HR[/Name] [Location]London[/Location] [/Department] [Department Id="3"] [Name]Payroll[/Name] [Location]Mumbai[/Location] [/Department] [Employee Id="1"] [Name]Mark[/Name] [Gender]Male[/Gender] [DepartmentId]1[/DepartmentId] [/Employee] [Employee Id="2"] [Name]John[/Name] [Gender]Male[/Gender] [DepartmentId]1[/DepartmentId] [/Employee] [Employee Id="3"] [Name]Mary[/Name] [Gender]Female[/Gender] [DepartmentId]2[/DepartmentId] [/Employee] [Employee Id="4"] [Name]Steve[/Name] [Gender]Male[/Gender] [DepartmentId]2[/DepartmentId] [/Employee] [Employee Id="5"] [Name]Ben[/Name] [Gender]Male[/Gender] [DepartmentId]3[/DepartmentId] [/Employee] [/Data] Step 4 : Include the database connection string in web.config file [connectionStrings] [add name="CS" connectionString="server=.;database=Sample;integrated security=true"/] [/connectionStrings] Step 5 : Add a new WebForm to the project. Drag and drop a button control on the webform. Double click the button control to generate the click event handler. Copy and paste the following code in the the click event handler method. string cs = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["CS"].ConnectionString; using (SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(cs)) { DataSet ds = new DataSet(); ds.ReadXml(Server.MapPath("~/Data.xml")); DataTable dtDept = ds.Tables["Department"]; DataTable dtEmp = ds.Tables["Employee"]; con.Open(); using (SqlBulkCopy sb = new SqlBulkCopy(con)) { sb.DestinationTableName = "Departments"; sb.ColumnMappings.Add("ID", "ID"); sb.ColumnMappings.Add("Name", "Name"); sb.ColumnMappings.Add("Location", "Location"); sb.WriteToServer(dtDept); } using (SqlBulkCopy sb = new SqlBulkCopy(con)) { sb.DestinationTableName = "Employees"; sb.ColumnMappings.Add("ID", "ID"); sb.ColumnMappings.Add("Name", "Name"); sb.ColumnMappings.Add("Gender", "Gender"); sb.ColumnMappings.Add("DepartmentId", "DepartmentId"); sb.WriteToServer(dtEmp); } } Note: Please make sure to include the following using declarations using System; using System.Configuration; using System.Data; using System.Data.SqlClient; Text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2014/09/part-18-load-xml-data-into-sql-server.html Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2014/09/part-18-load-xml-data-into-sql-server_23.html All ADO .NET Text Articles http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/p/free-adonet-video-tutorial.html All ADO .NET Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/p/adonet-slides.html All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in English https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?view=1&sort=dd All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in Arabic https://www.youtube.com/c/KudvenkatArabic/playlists

How to Cache Database Queries with Redis in Laravel - Redis Series Episode 4

09:22
In this short episode, I show you how you can cache database queries for a certain period of time. This is really nice when you have data you know won't change during x period of time, because once it's in cache, Laravel knows to automatically skip the database query and immediately deliver the requested content from RAM. Couchbase: Simple, Fast, Elastic NoSQL Database

21:31
Couchbase is a privately held company funded by Accel Partners, Ignition Partners, Mayfield Fund and North Bridge Venture Partners. It's the simple, fast, elastic NoSQL database technology for interactive web applications. Couchbase is the NoSQL database market share leader, with production deployments at AOL, Deutsche Post, NTT Docomo, Salesforce.com, Turner Broadcasting Systems, Zynga and hundreds of other organizations worldwide. Couchbase products enable a more flexible, scalable, high-performance, and cost-effective approach to data management than relational database solutions and are particularly well suited for web applications deployed on virtualized or cloud infrastructures, and mobile applications requiring real-time data synchronization between devices and the cloud. "NoSQL really started a few years ago when people started having increased problems with relational databases and technologies like MySQL and the proprietary technologies from the big guys," explains Bob Wiederhold, CEO of Couchbase. "A lot of application developers were starting to look for something different. They wanted something that provided them a much more flexible data model, something with much higher performance and something that would scale a lot more easily to deal with the huge amount of data." Couchbase Server makes it easy to optimally match resources to the changing needs of an application by automatically distributing data and I/O across commodity servers or virtual machines. It scales out and supports live cluster topology changes while continuing to service data operations. Its managed object caching technology delivers consistent, sub-millisecond random reads, while sustaining high-throughput writes. As a document-oriented database, Couchbase Server accommodates changing data management requirements without the burden of schema management. Getting started with Couchbase Server is easy. Linux, Windows and OSX packages can be installed and configured in minutes. JSP Java Server Pages Tutorial 01 Introduction To JSP For Beginners

16:29
Java is a computer programming language that is concurrent, class-based, object-oriented, and specifically designed to have as few implementation dependencies as possible. It is intended to let application developers "write once, run anywhere" (WORA), meaning that code that runs on one platform does not need to be recompiled to run on another. Java applications are typically compiled to bytecode (class file) that can run on any Java virtual machine (JVM) regardless of computer architecture. Java is, as of 2014, one of the most popular programming languages in use, particularly for client-server web applications, with a reported 9 million developers.[10][11] Java was originally developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems (which has since merged into Oracle Corporation) and released in 1995 as a core component of Sun Microsystems' Java platform. The language derives much of its syntax from C and C++, but it has fewer low-level facilities than either of them. The original and reference implementation Java compilers, virtual machines, and class libraries were developed by Sun from 1991 and first released in 1995. As of May 2007, in compliance with the specifications of the Java Community Process, Sun relicensed most of its Java technologies under the GNU General Public License. Others have also developed alternative implementations of these Sun technologies, such as the GNU Compiler for Java (bytecode compiler), GNU Classpath (standard libraries), and IcedTea-Web (browser plugin for applets). James Gosling, Mike Sheridan, and Patrick Naughton initiated the Java language project in June 1991.[12] Java was originally designed for interactive television, but it was too advanced for the digital cable television industry at the time.[13] The language was initially called Oak after an oak tree that stood outside Gosling's office; it went by the name Green later, and was later renamed Java, from Java coffee,[14] said to be consumed in large quantities by the language's creators.[citation needed] Gosling aimed to implement a virtual machine and a language that had a familiar C/C++ style of notation.[15] Sun Microsystems released the first public implementation as Java 1.0 in 1995.[1] It promised "Write Once, Run Anywhere" (WORA), providing no-cost run-times on popular platforms. Fairly secure and featuring configurable security, it allowed network- and file-access restrictions. Major web browsers soon incorporated the ability to run Java applets within web pages, and Java quickly became popular. With the advent of Java 2 (released initially as J2SE 1.2 in December 1998 -- 1999), new versions had multiple configurations built for different types of platforms. For example, J2EE targeted enterprise applications and the greatly stripped-down version J2ME for mobile applications (Mobile Java). J2SE designated the Standard Edition. In 2006, for marketing purposes, Sun renamed new J2 versions as Java EE, Java ME, and Java SE, respectively. In 1997, Sun Microsystems approached the ISO/IEC JTC1 standards body and later the Ecma International to formalize Java, but it soon withdrew from the process.[16] Java remains a de facto standard, controlled through the Java Community Process.[17] At one time, Sun made most of its Java implementations available without charge, despite their proprietary software status. Sun generated revenue from Java through the selling of licenses for specialized products such as the Java Enterprise System. Sun distinguishes between its Software Development Kit (SDK) and Runtime Environment (JRE) (a subset of the SDK); the primary distinction involves the JRE's lack of the compiler, utility programs, and header files. On November 13, 2006, Sun released much of Java as free and open source software, (FOSS), under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). On May 8, 2007, Sun finished the process, making all of Java's core code available under free software/open-source distribution terms, aside from a small portion of code to which Sun did not hold the copyright.[18] Sun's vice-president Rich Green said that Sun's ideal role with regards to Java was as an "evangelist."[19] Following Oracle Corporation's acquisition of Sun Microsystems in 2009--2010, Oracle has described itself as the "steward of Java technology with a relentless commitment to fostering a community of participation and transparency".[20] This did not hold Oracle, however, from filing a lawsuit against Google shortly after that for using Java inside the Android SDK (see Google section below). Java software runs on everything from laptops to data centers, game consoles to scientific supercomputers. There are 930 million Java Runtime Environment downloads each year and 3 billion mobile phones run Java.[21] On April 2, 2010, James Gosling resigned from Oracle

Pampering Percy Pig - ASMR

24:10
Sometimes pigs deserve a little pampering, don't you think? Throughout the video we have soft spoken chit chat and pig stroking, with other triggers along the way: 4:27-6:26 Eyeball cleaning, wiping hand motions. 7:36-13:32 Applying powder, brushing, stroking and rambling. 14:05-15:32 Applying blusher. 16:00-17:30 Brushing his hair. 17:45-18:45 Nail filing. 19:05-21:02 Cleaning his ears (touching mic with Q-tips). 21:10-22:35 Massage/stroking. ❀PATREON: http://patreon.com/asmrattack ❀FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/asmrattack ❀PAYPAL: [email protected] ❀TWITTER https://twitter.com/sarah_chunks ❀TWITCH https://www.twitch.tv/ladydangerr ❀UPLOAD Schedule Wed, Fri and Sun (I try to at least) :D ❀WHAT is ASMR? Firstly it stands for Autonomous sensory meridian response. ''What on earth does that even mean?!'' Err, you can ask Wikipedia for the answer to that...BUT I can tell you what it does to the body, although sadly not everyone experiences it. I say sadly because it is a NICE sensation, so if you get it, just enjoy it! Basically it's a tingling sensation ranging anywhere from the scalp (where I get it) to down the back, though suppose you could get this feeling anywhere! ❀''This is some sexual fetish though, surely?'' NO. The majority of ASMR lovers don't watch these videos to get sexual pleasure from it. But let's face it, there are a large number that do. Us creators aren't clueless about this, I'm sure we just prefer not to think about it. While others take advantage of that. ❀So that brings me to the most COMMON question of people who don't understand ASMR: ''Why are you whispering/speaking so softly?'' Cause it's relaxing, duh :D There are so many things that can trigger ASMR, what one person may find tingly, another may find extremely annoying. Mouth sounds are a great example of this (slapping, chewing, crunching etc). You either love it or hate it. ❀More 'triggers': Whispering/speaking softly. Crinkling paper or a plastic bag, or anything else that crinkles! Page turning. Tapping wood, plastic, card...again pretty much anything that taps. Water sounds. Stroking stuff or rubbing sounds (Q tips along a mic for example) ❀Or visual stimuli: In real life I have experienced this through watching people clean (like dusting, polishing windows etc). The repetitive motion of the hands I suppose it is. So hand movements, finger fluttering. The sound and the movement of someone stroking the pages of a book as they turn. There are so so many, I couldn't possibly name them all without boring you to tears. So if you don't get ASMR, that's fine. But let the few of us that do enjoy it :D

How to Compress PDF Files

03:14
PDF files can be very large, especially if they contain high-resolution images or other graphics. For this reason, you may need to compress a PDF file to email or upload it somewhere. Step # 1 - Download and Install PDF Compressor An option is to use “PDF Compressor”, a program that compresses PDF files using lossless technology, without destroying the quality. The app supports batch processing of thousands of documents at once, including encrypted PDFs. To use this program, go to this site: “www.pdfcompressor.org”, and click the “download” button. Then run the setup and follow the instructions to install the program. Step # 2 - Add a file to “PDF Compressor” After installation is complete, open the program. You can add a file or drag and drop one. Let’s click to add a PDF file. Select the file and click “Open”. Step # 3 - Choose your settings for compression Then choose the “Compression settings” option. In the window that appears, you can choose to “Better compress with minor quality loss” in the compression tab or “Compress for web in the optimization” tab. After this, press “OK”. Step # 4 - Start compression In the upper right hand corner, choose where to Output the PDF file and then click on “Start Compression”. Step # 5 - Optimize a PDF in Microsoft Office A second option is to use “Microsoft Office”. The new versions have built-in PDF creation features so you can choose the quality level when you export the PDF file. To export a document to PDF in Office 2013, click the “File” menu, select “Export”, and click “Create PDF/XPS”. In the Save dialog, choose your “Optimize for” setting, either Standard or Minimum size. Step # 6 - Split PDFs and remove pages Splitting a large PDF into two separate files will allow you to email it in two emails. Removing pages from a PDF file will free up some space, as well. To split a PDF file you can download the “PDFtk” program. Go to the pdf labs site: “www.pdflabs.com/tools/pdftk-the-pdf-toolkit”, and click the “Download” button. Run the Setup and follow the instructions to install the program. Step # 7 - Add PDF file to the software Then open it and click the “Add PDF” button, to add a file. Double-click on the right column and enter the page range you want for the new file. For example, if you have a 16-page PDF file and you only want pages 5-10, you’d enter 5-10 in the column. If you only want pages 3, 9, and 12, you’d enter 3, 9,12 into the column. After this, click the “Create PDF” button. If you want to split a PDF file into two files, you should go through this process twice and specify a different half each time. Step # 5 - Put a PDF Into a ZIP File You can also try compressing the PDF into a .zip file. To easily create a zip file without installing anything in Windows, right-click your PDF file, click “Send to”, and select “Compressed (zipped) folder”. Windows will create a new compressed ZIP archive containing your PDF file. And that’s it! Result: Congratulations! You’ve just learned How to Compress PDF Files.

Lesson - 21 : Servlet - Pagination in Servlet

18:46
Pagination in Servlet: For a given request if the response content is to large then the end user looses the concentration to observe the response of the request. When the response content is too heavy or too large then instead of displaying the total response at once we can divide the response content into multiple web pages and we can show page by page of the response. This concept is called pagination. For example in gmail the mails of inbox are displayed in page by page manner. This is a pagination.
