The amazing scope of Idle Asset Optimization
https://salvagespace.com... Idle Asset Optimization comes with the realization that all the idle machinery that is locked up in warehouses, left to depreciate and gather dust, can bring in a high level of potential cash and returns for companies, if they are sold to the correct place. Idle Asset Optimization lays emphasis, not on the procurement of new machinery, but towards the better (and more effective) management of already existing equipment. It has opened the door for new opportunities as far as these machineries are concerned, which hitherto were left to collect rust since they were of no productive use to the concern any more. 2014-01 Content-focused Marketing & SEO
Content-focused Marketing and SEO: The Feud that Never Was -- Why both content and SEO are crucial to drive your marketing Content-focused marketing v. SEO. Which is better? Which is more effective for marketing your firm? "Experts" in marketing have a tendency to promote these two elements of marketing (and others including "social media marketing," PR and the entire side of marketing known as business development), as wholly separate -- and competing -- strategies. Much has been written about the supremacy of one strategy over the other -- SEO is crucial to marketing success in a digital world and trumps content; the rise of content-focused marketing has all but killed SEO -- as if using one strategy alone will ensure the success of your marketing. Our panel is here to tell you the truth: content and SEO are both essential elements of a holistic -- and successful -- marketing plan. Compelling content is essential to legal marketing. Optimization maximizes its power to drive your marketing and business objectives by increasing the probability that your content will be discovered. Our panel will tell you how to bring these two complementary strategies together to gain a powerful marketing advantage. US investigating 38 cases of reconstruction abuse
(12 Jan 2010) 1. Wide of news conference 2. Close up of photographer taking picture 3. SOUNDBITE: (English) General Arnold Fields, Special Inspector for Office of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction: "We emphasise the waste, fraud and abuse aspect of our work. We are interested in finding those individuals who are bilking the government of United States, the government of Afghanistan or any government out of money made available for the reconstruction in this country. If they are bilking up this money or misusing it loading their own pockets then we are out to find you and to bring you to justice." 4. Close up of journalist writing 5. Wide of news conference 6. SOUNDBITE: (English) Raymond DiNunzio, Assistant Inspector for Office of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction: "In fact approximately 40 percent of our current investigations involve programmes fraud, procurement fraud or contract fraud. 30 percent are in the area of bribery or solicitation for bribery or even up in the front end of the contracts being awarded where we have collusive bidding and the trading of insider information before contracts are let. The remaining 30 percent are split between matters involving theft of commandory emergency response programme funds or strictly false statements to US government officials in the participation and the proposal for these awards." 7. Close up of hand writing 8. Wide of news conference STORYLINE: The US agency overseeing the multi-billion US dollar Afghanistan reconstruction effort is investigating 38 criminal cases ranging from contract fraud to theft, most involving non-Afghans, officials said on Tuesday. The reconstruction effort has come under increased scrutiny as Defence Department contractors pour into Afghanistan to support the U.S. military surge. But the Office of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, headed by retired Marine Corps General Arnold Fields, was only established by Congress in 2008, nearly seven years after the U.S. invasion to oust the Taliban. "We emphasise the waste, fraud and abuse aspect of our work," he said at a news conference at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul. Just 10 of the criminal cases under the microscope involve Afghans only, while the rest involve U.S. and other foreigners, according to Raymond DiNunzio, the agency''s assistant inspector general for inspections. He would not elaborate since the cases are under investigation. Afghanistan also faces intense pressure to control rampant corruption in the country, but its institutions are weak after years of war and civil strife. Fields acknowledged that the government might not be ready to deal with the flow of additional funds into Afghanistan as the international communicate escalates the mission to stabilise the country. He said his office also plans to increase staff from 90 in 2008 to 118 by the end of this year and a projected 132 in 2011. The international community has invested more than 60 (b) billion US dollars since 2002 in reconstruction efforts, including 40 (b) billion US dollars from the U.S. alone. Concerns have been raised in past months that the waste and fraud that has undermined the U.S. reconstruction effort in Iraq is being repeated in Afghanistan, particularly as the number of contractors rises. More than 60 percent of the investigators had experience in Iraq, DiNunzio said. DiNunzio said 40 percent of the criminal cases involve allegations of programme fraud, procurement fraud or contract fraud while the other 60 percent involve bribery allegations and theft of emergency military funds. Two other investigations are under way into cases involving alleged negligence and incompetence, he said. BSI | Launch of PAS 150 the new standards for rehabilitation services
"PAS 150 Providing Rehabilitation Services. Code of Practice" PAS 150 (Publicly Available Specification) is a code of practice for the delivery of rehabilitation services for all disabilities and health conditions, with both short- and long-term needs. It covers providers in health, social care and employment and focuses on the interdependence between work, health and wellbeing. Read more: http://shop.bsigroup.com/en/ProductDetail/?pid=000000000030203157 Transcript SBW Shirley Bailey Wood, BSI DP Dr Diane Playford NK Dr Nick Kendall BC Beth Carruthers, Remploy BSI recently launched the new standard PAS 150 for rehabilitation services. It was developed together with the UK Rehabilitation Council and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. SBW We are now talking about something that we believe is going to make a long term difference, a significant difference, to the quality of life and for those who are using rehabilitation services. So, this is a landmark standard for us, it's focussed on the interdependence between work, health and wellbeing and it touches all of those, many of us in multiple capacities, who might be providing, using or setting policies, perhaps, for those services. DP I'm here, really, talking on behalf of the British Society of Rehabilitation Medicine, and I'd like to say how very much the British Society of Rehabilitation and Medicine welcomes this standard and feels that it's going to make a significant contribution to delivering the quality of care that we want for patients who have multiple and complex disabilities, as well as for those who have much less severe disability, but which nonetheless impacts on their everyday lives. NK I'm a strong believer in standards, because I think they provide good information about what the expected inputs need to be, what the processes are; what the expected outcomes should be. And good standards are always focussed on the customer, they're problem focussed and oriented towards outcomes, and wherever we can get those three things together, we know that we've got the best chance of providing the very best services in that regard. They should contribute to quality, efficiency, value outcomes, these are all nice words - they're very hard things for us to prove. BC We want to be able to say to people that we meet standards, and if those standards don't exist we feel undervalued. We know we work hard, we know we have lots of knowledge and experience, but give us something that helps us evidence that. So again, these standards are really invaluable for us in ensuring that our workforce feels valued and recognised, but also sets for us a framework which help us to develop those people so they can continue to improve the work that they do, the services that they offer, and the value within the overall organisation. As a service provider, you will be able to improve your services for customers who are in need of rehabilitation. Please visit our website for more information about PAS 150.

Agile Adoption in the Department of Defense (DoD)
Though they are starting to gain acceptance in the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) community, Agile methods are still relatively new to the DoD acquisition community. As recently as four years ago, most programs did not willingly or openly admit to using Agile methods even if they were. These methods can be disruptive for the DoD acquisition community since they are somewhat antithetical to the standard modes of operation within the DoD acquisition and development communities.

#40 Michelle Thomas, Exec Head, New Wave Federation
Michelle Thomas is speaking at the TES Leaders Summit at Bett 2017 and organising TeachMeet Resolution both in January 2017, London.  What's in this episode? Intro 0-2.30: Nordic Edtech Conference: http://nordicedtech.squarespace.com/  Forward schedule - give your vote on which topics should be included or sign up to sponsor: [email protected]   Content: Interview with: Michelle Thomas, executive head teacher of the New Wave Federation Neill Melville, CAS master teacher, federated assistant head teacher, New Wave Federation The concept of Federation The role of the Executive Head Teacher How to get mentorship or support when there's no Executive Head teacher structure in place Being a connected educator Suggested apps for use in the classroom Ensuring tech for good and not extending the attainment gap Sample Quotations: Michelle Thomas Federation is about schools working together, achieving more, sharing leadership and talents. I don't want my staff to see themselves in a bubble of perfection. I found bright children completely disengaged with learning I like systems in place. It's a tough life being a teacher. Being a head teacher is quite a lonely job. The hardest thing is the loneliness. Search networks is useful. Having mentors is very important as a head teacher I am a big believer of learning from other people. That's the beauty of Federations and Academies. Leadership makes the difference. I started to see iPads as the hook. We put them in the classroom. It did create a spark of interest in children. We wanted the iPad to make learning independent and get them to collaborate, work together. Take learning to another place, that we teachers couldn't. Don’t use an iPad if it's much quicker on pen and paper! Think about the use of the technology, don’t have it replacing something. Because that's not going to take it anywhere. An appraisal system around the use of technology was key for us, not an extra add-on. Show-casing was a quick-win that allowed us to create a competent digital team. They showed what they were able to do with technology in the classroom. Neill Melville Teach computer science in schools. Not only how to use technology but also how to create technology. Coding? Masters with Masters 12 (Jack Boyd and Hans Mark)
With over 100 years of combined aerospace experience, Jack Boyd and Hans Mark have seen it all—and today looks different than the past. On August 13, 2012, the Academy's Masters with Masters series featured aerospace heavyweights Jack Boyd and Hans Mark at Ames Research Center. Boyd, senior advisor to the NASA Ames Center Director and 65-year veteran of Moffett Field, served as the former NASA associate administrator and acting deputy center director at Ames. Mark, former NASA Deputy Administrator and Ames Center Director, also served roles as Chancellor of the University of Texas; former Secretary and Undersecretary of the U.S. Air Force; Director of the National Reconnaissance Office; and Director of the Department of Defense/Defense Research and Engineering. Reflecting on their early careers and offering insights for the next generation, Boyd and Mark covered a range of topics including the transition from Apollo to Shuttle, the agency's tolerance for risk, the role of research and technology in NASA's future, models for innovation, and young professional recruitment and career development. Conservative Party (UK) | Wikipedia audio article
This is an audio version of the Wikipedia Article: Conservative Party (UK) Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago. Learning by listening is a great way to: - increases imagination and understanding - improves your listening skills - improves your own spoken accent - learn while on the move - reduce eye strain Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone. You can find other Wikipedia audio articles too at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuKfABj2eGyjH3ntPxp4YeQ You can upload your own Wikipedia articles through: https://github.com/nodef/wikipedia-tts "The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." - Socrates SUMMARY ======= The Conservative Party, officially the Conservative and Unionist Party, is a centre-right political party in the United Kingdom. It is currently the governing party, having been so since the 2010 general election, where a coalition government with the Liberal Democrats was formed. In 2015, the Conservatives led by David Cameron won a surprise majority and formed the first Conservative majority government since 1992. However, the snap election on 8 June 2017 resulted in a hung parliament, and the party lost its parliamentary majority. It is reliant on the support of a Northern Irish political party, the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), in order to command a majority in the House of Commons through a confidence-and-supply deal. The party leader, Theresa May, has served as both Leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister since July 2016. It is the largest party in local government with 9,008 councillors. The Conservative Party is one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United Kingdom, the other being its modern rival, the Labour Party. The Conservative Party was founded in 1834 from the Tory Party—giving rise to the Conservatives' colloquial name of Tories—and was one of two dominant political parties in the nineteenth century, along with the Liberal Party. In the 1890s, it formed a coalition government with the Liberal Unionist Party, a break-away faction of the Liberal Party, and in 1912 the two merged to form the Conservative and Unionist Party. In the 1920s, the Liberal vote greatly diminished and the Labour Party became the Conservatives' main rivals. Conservative Prime Ministers led governments for 57 years of the twentieth century, including Winston Churchill (1940–1945, 1951–1955) and Margaret Thatcher (1979–1990). Thatcher's tenure led to wide-ranging economic liberalisation. The Conservative Party's domination of British politics throughout the twentieth century has led to them being referred to as one of the most successful political parties in the Western world. The Conservatives are the second largest British party in the European Parliament, with eighteen MEPs, and sit with the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) parliamentary group. The party is a member of the Alliance of Conservatives and Reformists in Europe (ACRE) Europarty and the International Democrat Union (IDU). The party is the second-largest in the Scottish Parliament and the second-largest in the Welsh Assembly. The Conservatives were formerly allied to the Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) in Northern Ireland but there is now a separate Northern Ireland Conservative party similar to the Welsh and Scottish Conservative parties. The party is also organised in the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar.

Auburn Coach Wife Kristi Malzahn Agrees with Match & eHarmony: Men are Jerks
My advice is this: Settle! That's right. Don't worry about passion or intense connection. Don't nix a guy based on his annoying habit of yelling "Bravo!" in movie theaters. Overlook his halitosis or abysmal sense of aesthetics. Because if you want to have the infrastructure in place to have a family, settling is the way to go. Based on my observations, in fact, settling will probably make you happier in the long run, since many of those who marry with great expectations become more disillusioned with each passing year. (It's hard to maintain that level of zing when the conversation morphs into discussions about who's changing the diapers or balancing the checkbook.) Obviously, I wasn't always an advocate of settling. In fact, it took not settling to make me realize that settling is the better option, and even though settling is a rampant phenomenon, talking about it in a positive light makes people profoundly uncomfortable. Whenever I make the case for settling, people look at me with creased brows of disapproval or frowns of disappointment, the way a child might look at an older sibling who just informed her that Jerry's Kids aren't going to walk, even if you send them money. It's not only politically incorrect to get behind settling, it's downright un-American. Our culture tells us to keep our eyes on the prize (while our mothers, who know better, tell us not to be so picky), and the theme of holding out for true love (whatever that is—look at the divorce rate) permeates our collective mentality. Even situation comedies, starting in the 1970s with The Mary Tyler Moore Show and going all the way to Friends, feature endearing single women in the dating trenches, and there's supposed to be something romantic and even heroic about their search for true love. Of course, the crucial difference is that, whereas the earlier series begins after Mary has been jilted by her fiancé, the more modern-day Friends opens as Rachel Green leaves her nice-guy orthodontist fiancé at the altar simply because she isn't feeling it. But either way, in episode after episode, as both women continue to be unlucky in love, settling starts to look pretty darn appealing. Mary is supposed to be contentedly independent and fulfilled by her newsroom family, but in fact her life seems lonely. Are we to assume that at the end of the series, Mary, by then in her late 30s, found her soul mate after the lights in the newsroom went out and her work family was disbanded? If her experience was anything like mine or that of my single friends, it's unlikely. And while Rachel and her supposed soul mate, Ross, finally get together (for the umpteenth time) in the finale of Friends, do we feel confident that she'll be happier with Ross than she would have been had she settled down with Barry, the orthodontist, 10 years earlier? She and Ross have passion but have never had long-term stability, and the fireworks she experiences with him but not with Barry might actually turn out to be a liability, given how many times their relationship has already gone up in flames. It's equally questionable whether Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw, who cheated on her kindhearted and generous boyfriend, Aidan, only to end up with the more exciting but self-absorbed Mr. Big, will be better off in the framework of marriage and family. (Some time after the breakup, when Carrie ran into Aidan on the street, he was carrying his infant in a Baby Björn. Can anyone imagine Mr. Big walking around with a Björn?)
