Explore the pros and cons of the different tactics you can use to develop a sustainable awareness-building program for your brand. VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: With over a trillion pages indexed by Google the odds of your site getting found by the right prospect are astronomically stacked against you. If you’d like to increase those odds, stay tuned because today we’re going to explore the pros and cons of the different tactics you can use to get your brand found online. My objective is to help you achieve a more balanced approach so that you can develop a sustainable awareness-building program for your brand. Why it matters Imagine your perfect prospect sitting at home in front of her computer. She’s never heard of your brand. How is she going to find your website, how is she going to find your online store, your blog, your social media sites, or the online contest you’re hosting? Of course, if you knew who she was you could find her through outreach activities on social media or with email. But right now let’s focus on the inbound challenge of being found by prospects online. I don’t think any online marketer needs to be convinced of the importance of building and maintaining awareness for their brand. But optimizing your web pages and waiting for Google to deliver prospects is only part of the answer. There is a lot more you could do to build brand awareness. But with so many ways to be found online the question becomes which one is best for your brand? Well, I’ve got good news on two counts. First, you don’t need to choose and second there are actually only three ways that prospects can find you online anyhow. I’d like to look at the pros and cons of each to help you build a more effective and sustainable online awareness program for your brand. What it is The first way for prospects to find you online is through paid promotion. This means paying someone money to access their audience. Adwords is the most popular form of online paid promotion. With Adwords you pay Google to gain access to the 1.2 billion people who use their search engine each month. But there are many variations on this theme such as Facebook ads, LinkedIn post promotion, banner ads and native content. In all cases you’re paying a gatekeeper to gain access to a third party’s proprietary audience. In the case of paid search, the key concepts are clickthrough rate and conversion rate. Clickthrough rate refers to the percentage of people who click on your link when it is served up in their search results. The average clickthrough rate for paid search is about 3 and a half percent. So for every 10 thousand people who are shown your link you can expect 350 visitors to your site. Conversion rate refers to the percentage of those visitors who perform the desired action, that usually means buying something. The average conversion rate for paid search is around 5 percent. So from your 350 visitors you could expect to get 18 purchases. How much Google charges per click depends on how many other people want to advertise with that word. So although the average cost per click is about 40 cents, words that are highly sought after can cost over forty dollars per click. Which means your 18 buyers could cost you anywhere from 140 to 14,000 dollars or between 8 and 8,000 dollars per sale. The biggest upside of paid promotion is that you get immediate results. And over time these results can become predictable. So you can calculate the anticipated return on your investment with regard to traffic and conversions with a fair degree of accuracy. Since everything about this investment is measurable it’s easy to show cause & effect and to explain the investment to superiors. Pay-per-click scheme also comes with a potent feel-good factor because in theory you only pay for results. On the down side, the public trust factor in this type of exposure is low since it’s essentially the brand recommending itself, so visitors arriving through paid links may be more skeptical. Paid promotion can also be expensive if it’s your sole means of driving traffic and conversion. Especially as competition for your desired keyword increases. Budget allocated to paid promotion often displaces investment in developing the brand’s website in ways that would attract organic awareness and traffic. And as the website becomes less able to attract visitors on its own, brands can find themselves completely dependent on paid promotion to maintain their sales... Life moves so fast that we don’t always have the time to think about the impact of the small, daily choices we make – like using a take-away coffee cup with a plastic lid or accepting a straw with our drink. 43% of all marine litter polluting our oceans is made up of just 10 types of single-use plastic items; food containers, take-away beverage cups and lids, cotton buds, cutlery (including plates, stirrers and straws), balloons and balloon sticks, packets and wrappers, beverage bottles, cigarette butts, sanitary products, and carrier bags. As soon as we’re finished using these items, they often end up in the natural world; washed up on beaches or submerged in our oceans. This litter negatively impacts ecosystems, biodiversity - and even human health. This can’t continue. We need to be ready to change the way we think about single-use plastic. The single-use plastic initiative is part of the EU’s broader Circular Economy agenda, including the world's first Plastics Strategy: an EU-wide drive to increase awareness about plastic waste and our transition towards a more sustainable, circular economy. After nearly 2 hours of question and answer live here on YouTube, it became clear that the question of "what type of Facebook ad campaign is best?" is a huge confusing point for most people. There is a large segment of people who seem to believe that you need to run a pay per engagement campaign first to build engagement on an ad or on an advertising account before running a conversion based campaign. I believe this comes from some course and it makes no sense to me. This video looks at how the different Facebook advertising campaigns are structured and reveal why Facebook uses these different campaign types. Is always important to remember that Facebook has a very large volume of data on every single Facebook user. This data is not simply your age, gender, location… Facebook understands whether you frequently make purchases online, whether you prefer to use cash or credit card, they even are able to tell if you're in the market for a new car. They also know if you're highly engaged user on Facebook, if you're an active contributor to Facebook, or if you're more of a lurker here on Facebook. This data can help enhance your advertising campaigns on Facebook! Making sure you align your campaign objective with your ultimate goal of the advertising campaign is absolutely necessary. If you are trying to build your email list with Facebook pay per click campaigns, you should be running conversion-based campaigns. If you are trying to sell a tripwire offer, you should also be running conversion-based Facebook campaigns. If you are pre-launching a product and looking to get exposure for a video that tells a brand story or reveals a product coming soon... It makes more sense to get engagements on that kind of content. This is where you would use a pay per engagement campaign because you are able to boost the virality of that content and the only goal of that content is to get viewers to watch. Kemmannu, 04 October 2018: Non Governmental Organization Nirmala Thonse, which was formed recently to create awareness about environment and save it, organized awareness campaign at Kemmannu Weekly Market. The campaign highlighted the dangers posed by the use of plastic carry bags and plastic products in general. Volunteers distributed pamphlets highlighting the dangers posed by the plastic products and distributed Bio-degradable carry bags to people who visited the market and requested them not to use plastic bags in the future. Resource persons spoke about the dangers plastic would have on the environment and Eco system. It is planned to continue the campaign for another 2 market days to make it more effective. Nirmala Thonse NGO was inaugurated recently under the Honorary Presidentship of Mr.B.M. Jaffer Thonse with Mr. Venkatesh Kunder as President and Mr. M.S. Khan as secretary. The committee consists of 18 members along with the Advisors. Kallianpur Rotary President Mr. Braan D’ Souza , Environmentalist Mr. Joseph M. Rebello, Kemmannu Panchayat President Mrs. Fauzia Sadiq, Taluk Panchayat Member Mr. Sulochana visited the place and supported the cause. President of Nirmala Thonse, Secretary, Members and Advisors were present during the occasion.
