CppCon 2014: Steve Gates "Using C++ to Connect to Web Services"

58:12
http://www.cppcon.org — Presentation Slides, PDFs, Source Code and other presenter materials are available at: https://github.com/CppCon/CppCon2014 -- Many languages have great support for connecting to web services. Trying to connect C++ applications to the cloud is difficult. The C++ standard library doesn't contain anything for networking (yet), and with the proliferation of devices, being able to do so in a cross platform manner is even more appealing. Often requiring use of multiple different styled, and potentially low level, libraries where asynchrony wasn't designed from the start. Or by building your own abstract layers over platform and operating system APIs, all of which distract from focusing on the core logic of your application. The C++ REST SDK makes connecting to services easier by creating APIs focused on simplicity and asynchrony, built using tasks from the Parallel Patterns Library. This is done by putting together a series of cross platform libraries for working with HTTP, WebSockets, JSON, URIs, and OAuth. In many cases building on top of other popular open source libraries like Boost, OpenSSL, and WebSocket++. This talk will take a practical approach looking at what is involved in connecting to some of the common popular services from C++, using the C++ REST SDK and other libraries. Several tutorial style example and demos will be done using C++ code that runs on all the major platforms. -- Steve Gates is a senior engineer on the Visual C++ team at Microsoft. Joining Microsoft in 2007, he's worked on various runtimes and libraries for parallel and asynchronous programming, including the Parallel Patterns Library. For the past couple of years he's been focusing on improving the experience in C++ for connecting to services. Specifically working on the C++ Rest SDK (Casablanca) open source project. Outside of work Steve's interests include growing vegetables, food preservation, and eating great food. -- Videos Filmed & Edited by Bash Films: http://www.BashFilms.com

Document-style WSDL

11:01
Creating a WSDL in Netbeans with user defined datatypes and document-style binding of operations. The main problem is, that the WSDL wizard does not allow to create ones own datatypes before defining the operation. To solve this problem, one has to finish the wizard accepting the defaults, and in a second step remove the port types and messages being generated by the wizard. After that, one is free to use the WSDL editor to create XML schema definition for the user defined datatypes and the customised messages. These are then used in the definition of the operations of the port types.

What is REST ? What is a RESTful API ?

19:47
Find more such tutorials on - http://www.codebind.com What is REST ? What is a REST API ? REST is an architectural style which is based on web-standards and the HTTP protocol. This style was initially described by Roy Fielding in 2000. Roy Fielding was also One of the principal authors of the HTTP specification. REST stands for REpresentational State Transfer. The architectural style of the web. So what does that even mean?? REST is a set of design criteria and not the physical structure (architecture) of the system REST is not tied to the ‘Web’ i.e. doesn’t depend on the mechanics of HTTP ‘Web’ applications are the most prevalent – hence RESTful architectures run off of it. Representational State Transfer refers to transferring "representations". You are using a "representation" of a resource to transfer resource state which lives on the server into application state on the client. -------------------Online Courses to learn---------------------------- Blockchain Course - http://bit.ly/2Mmzcv0 Big Data Hadoop Course - http://bit.ly/2MV97PL Java - https://bit.ly/2H6wqXk C++ - https://bit.ly/2q8VWl1 AngularJS - https://bit.ly/2qebsLu Python - https://bit.ly/2Eq0VSt C- https://bit.ly/2HfZ6L8 Android - https://bit.ly/2qaRSAS Linux - https://bit.ly/2IwOuqz AWS Certified Solutions Architect - https://bit.ly/2JrGoAF Modern React with Redux - https://bit.ly/2H6wDtA MySQL - https://bit.ly/2qcF63Z ----------------------Follow--------------------------------------------- My Website - http://www.codebind.com My Blog - https://goo.gl/Nd2pFn My Facebook Page - https://goo.gl/eLp2cQ Google+ - https://goo.gl/lvC5FX Twitter - https://twitter.com/ProgrammingKnow Pinterest - https://goo.gl/kCInUp Text Case Converter - https://goo.gl/pVpcwL -------------------------Stuff I use to make videos ------------------- Stuff I use to make videos Windows notebook – http://amzn.to/2zcXPyF Apple MacBook Pro – http://amzn.to/2BTJBZ7 Ubuntu notebook - https://amzn.to/2GE4giY Desktop - http://amzn.to/2zct252 Microphone – http://amzn.to/2zcYbW1 notebook mouse – http://amzn.to/2BVs4Q3 ------------------Facebook Links ---------------------------------------- http://fb.me/ProgrammingKnowledgeLearning/ http://fb.me/AndroidTutorialsForBeginners http://fb.me/Programmingknowledge http://fb.me/CppProgrammingLanguage http://fb.me/JavaTutorialsAndCode http://fb.me/SQLiteTutorial http://fb.me/UbuntuLinuxTutorials http://fb.me/EasyOnlineConverter

Most asked RESTFUL Interview Questions and Answers

04:16
RESTful (representational state transfer) API (application programming interface) DLs (description languages) are formal languages designed to provide a structured description of aRESTful web API that is useful both to a human and for automated machine processing. API Description Languages are sometimes called interface description languages (IDLs). The structured description might be used to generate documentation for humanprogrammers; such documentation may be easier to read than free-form documentation, since all documentation generated by the same tool follows the same formatting conventions. Additionally, the description language is usually precise enough to allow automated generation of various software artifacts, like libraries, to access the API from various programming languages, which takes the burden of manually creating them off the programmers. REpresentational State Transfer (REST) is an architectural style that defines a set of constraints and properties based on HTTP. Web Services that conform to the REST architectural style, or RESTful web services, provide interoperability between computer systems on the Internet. REST-compliant web services allow the requesting systems to access and manipulate textual representations of web resources by using a uniform and predefined set of stateless operations. Other kinds of web services, such as SOAP web services, expose their own arbitrary sets of operations.[1] "Web resources" were first defined on the World Wide Web as documents or files identified by their URLs. However, today they have a much more generic and abstract definition that encompasses every thing or entity that can be identified, named, addressed, or handled, in any way whatsoever, on the web. In a RESTful web service, requests made to a resource's URI will elicit a response that may be in XML, HTML, JSON, or some other format. The response may confirm that some alteration has been made to the stored resource, and the response may provide hypertext links to other related resources or collections of resources. When HTTP is used, as is most common, the operations available are GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, and other predefined CRUD HTTP methods. By using a stateless protocol and standard operations, REST systems aim for fast performance, reliability, and the ability to grow, by re-using components that can be managed and updated without affecting the system as a whole, even while it is running. The term representational state transfer was introduced and defined in 2000 by Roy Fielding in his doctoral dissertation.[2][3] Fielding's dissertation explained the REST principles that were known as the "HTTP object model" beginning in 1994, and were used in designing the HTTP 1.1 and Uniform Resource Identifiers (URI) standards.[4][5][6] The term is intended to evoke an image of how a well-designed Web application behaves: it is a network of Web resources (a virtual state-machine) where the user progresses through the application by selecting links, such as /user/tom, and operations such as GET or DELETE (state transitions), resulting in the next resource (representing the next state of the application) being transferred to the user for their use.

WINDEV Creating RESTful Web Services with WebDev v21

55:21
Our next Webinar will cover Creating RESTful Web Services with WebDev v21. Its is very easy to create SOAP (WDSL) style Web Services with WebDev, but creating RESTful (HTTP GET) style services is a bit more difficult. The good news is v22 will include the ability to create RESTful Web Services, the same way that we can currently create SOAP services. But what if you can't wait until next year? You can create RESTful Web Services with a few tricks in v21. In this Webinar, we will start by creating a simple SOAP Web Service, then we will turn that into a RESTful Web Service.

Introduction to Web Services Testing

10:45
Introduction to Web Services Testing, Why Web Services Testing?, Web Services Test Tools, and How to conduct Web Services Testing. 1. What is Web Service? . Web Services is the mechanism or the medium of communication through which two applications / machines will exchange the data irrespective of their underline architecture and the technology. 2. Why is Web Service Needed? . In general, software applications are developed to be consumed by the human beings, where a person sends a request to a software service which in-turn returns a response in human readable format. . In the modern era of technology if you want to build a software application you don't need to build each and everything from scratch. There are lots of ready-made services available which you can plug into your application and you can start providing those services in your application. For example you want to display weather forecast information you don't need to collect, process and render the data in your application. You can buy the services from the people who already well-established in processing and publishing such kind of data. Web services allow us to do these kind of implementations. 3. How to implement Web Services? . Web Services can be implemented in different ways, but the following two are the popular implementations approaches. i. SOAP - Simple Object Access Protocol ii. REST -Representational State Transfer architecture 4) What is SOAP? . SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) is a standard protocol defined by the W3C Standard for sending and receiving web service requests and responses. . SOAP uses the XML format to send and receive the request and hence the data is platform independent data. SOAP messages are exchanged between the provider applications and receiving application within the SOAP envelops. . As SOAP uses the simple http transport protocol, its messages are not got blocked by the firewalls. 5. What is REST? . REST means Representational State Transfer; it is an architecture that generally runs over HTTP. . The REST style emphasizes the interactions between clients and services, which are enhanced by having a limited number of operations. . REST is an alternative to SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) and instead of using XML for request REST uses simple URL in some cases. 6. What is WSDL? . WSDL (Web Services Description Language) is an XML based language which will be used to describe the services offered by a web service. 7. What is Web Service Testing? Web Services Testing is testing of Web services and its Protocols like SOAP & REST. To test a Web Service you can, . Test Manually . Create your own Automation Code . Use an off-the shelf automation tool like SoapUI. Web Service Testing involves following steps - i. Understand the WSDL file ii. Determine the operations that particular web service provides iii. Determine the XML request format which we need to send iv. Determine the response XML format v. Using a tool or writing code to send request and validate the response Suppose we want to test a Web Service which provides Currency Conversion Facility. It will the current conversion rates between the different countries currency. This service we can use in our applications to convert the values from one currency to the other currency. 8. Using a Tool or Writing Code to Test Web Services.... . There are lots of tools available to test web services. SoapUI is one of the popular tool which will help us to test the web services. . In fact you can use the any programming language which is capable of sending the XML request to the web service provider application over the http and able to parse and validate the response XML against the expected result. In our case, we can test the Web Service, . Using Java . Using SoapUI 9. What is SoapUI? . SoapUI is an open source, cross-platform testing tool. It can automate functional ,regression, compliance and load testing of both SOAP and REST web services. . It comes with an easy-to-use graphical interface and supports industry-leading technologies and standards to mock and stimulate behavior of web services.

Add jax rpc to netbeans 8.0.1

03:29
Sometimes, you encounter old WSDL service definitions, based on RPC style SOAP instead of the newer Document based litteral encoding. To discover wether a WSDL is using RPC or literal encoding, check the “style” parameter of the “binding” element, such as <binding name="A_WebServiceBinding" type="tns:A_WebServiceRPC"> <soap:binding transport="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/http" style="rpc"/> In Java, RPC based SOAP is implemented by JAX-RPC, a quite old API developed for Java 1.4. As it is older than JAXB, it even implements its own XML to Java object mapping. When SOAP 1.2 was released, the Java platform switched to the newer JAX-WS implementation to support it along with other stuffs, namely HTTP Binding (aka XML over HTTP without SOAP), a new data mapping model and support for WS-I basic profile 1.1 Select “Tools” in the menu, then “Plugins”, then the “Settings” tab. Add a Repository with the name you choose and this URL : http://deadlock.netbeans.org/hudson/job/nbms-and-javadoc/lastStableBuild/artifact/nbbuild/nbms/updates.xml.gz Then go back to “Available Plugins” and type RPC in the search box, you should find JAX-RPC in the list of proposed plugins. Follow the instructions to download and install the plugins. you are now ready to create JAX RPC based Java clients by choosing the “File” menu, then “New File” then choose “Web Service Clients” in the “Web Services” section.

REST API & RESTful Web Services Explained

15:33
What is REST API? REST stands for Representational State Transfer and API stands for Application Programming Interface. ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Hey guys, I'm now using Patreon to share improved and updated video lesson material. For a small fee you can access all the downloadable files from this lesson (source code, icons & graphics, cheat sheets) and everything else included in the video from the Patreon page. Additionally, you will get access to ALL Clever Techie videos in HD format with no ads. Thank you so much for supporting Clever Techie :) Download this video's files here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/rest-api-restful-20819043 ( You also get access to ALL source code and any downloadable content of ALL Clever Techie videos, as well as access to ALL videos in HD 1080p quality format with all video ads removed! ) ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Representational - the resource (image, page, video, profile) is represented by the web server to the client in any format like HTML, Image, JSON, XML etc. State - the state of the application (web site) on a client's computer changes as the client clicks from one link to the next. Ask the client clicks on the link, they request additional resources, and the application "state" changes. Transfer - the transfer of resources from the web server to the client in a "representational" state which can be read by the client or implemented in the application program by the programmer. The transfer may also refer to the application state transfer as the client browses a web site. API - application programming interface provides useful methods/functions which a programmer can implement into his own application in a chosen programming language like PHP. The API makes it easy for programmers to implement. It's important to note that the response we get when sending REST API request will usually be in JSON, XML or other format which makes it easy to implement in the code and it's not meant to be read immediately by a human being. `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` ( Website ) https://clevertechie.com - PHP, JavaScript, Wordpress, CSS, and HTML tutorials in video and text format with cool looking graphics and diagrams. Cloud Computing Services Models - IaaS PaaS SaaS Explained

06:43
https://ecoursereview.com/cloud-computing-pros-and-cons-for-business-it/ 3 Types of Cloud Computing Services: IaaS PaaS SaaS Explained You Might Wonder – What Is Cloud Computer: #Cloudcomputing is a set of forms that contain certain elements that allows for on-demand, network access, scalability, and shared resources. It's a platform for managing, storing, and processing data online through the internet. Some of the cloud computing features include the following: - On-Demand Services – Available when you need it - Network Access – When using the internet as your medium - Shared Resources – All resources are gathered together and used by multiple customers - Scalability - The ability of a computer system to adapt to increasing demands The Three Delivery Models: Cloud computing provides different services based on three delivery configurations. When they are arranged in a pyramid structure, they are in the order of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. The Three Services: #SaaS - Software as a Service This service provides on-demand pay per use of the application software for users and is independent of a platform. You do not have to install software on your computer, unlike a license paid program. Cloud runs a single occurrence of the software, making it available for multiple end-users allowing the service to be cheap. All the computing resources that are responsible for delivering SaaS are totally managed by the vendor. The service is accessible through a web browser or lightweight client applications. End customers use SaaS regularly. The most popular SaaS providers offer the following products and services: Google Ecosystem including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, Microsoft Office 365, and SalesForce. #PaaS - Platform as a Service This service is mostly a development environment that is made up of a programming language execution environment, an operating system, web server, and database. It provides an environment where users can build, compile, and run their program without worrying about an hidden infrastructure. You manage the data and application resources. All the other resources are managed by the vendor. This is the realm for developers. PaaS providers offer the following products and services: Amazon Web services, Elastic Beanstalk, Google App Engine, Windows Azure, Heroku, and Force.com #IaaS - Infrastructure as a Service This service provides the architecture and infrastructure. It provides all computing resources but in a virtual environment so multiple users can have access. The resources include data storage, virtualization, servers, and networking. Most vendors are responsible for managing them. If you use this service, you are responsible for handling other resources including applications, data, runtime, and middleware. This is mostly for SysAdmins. IaaS providers offer the following products and services: Amazon EC2, Go Grid, and Rackspace.com. Here is a short list of some companies that use cloud computing: iCloud – Cloud from Apple is for Apple products. You can backup and store everything from multimedia to documents online. The content is then smoothly integrated onto your devices. Amazon's AWS - When you talk about companies using cloud computing, Amazon Web Services leads the pack. It offers IaaS and PaaS to all their customers. Google Cloud – This cloud platform is universal for Google's enormous ecosystem and for other products such as Microsoft Office. It provides storage of data and collaboration along with other services that are included in their cloud computing suite. Microsoft Azure – Offered by Microsoft, it provides SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS for its software and developer tools. If you have used Office 365, then you have used SaaS. IBM Smart Cloud - This offers private, public, and hybrid distribution platforms providing a full range of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS cloud computing services for businesses. The pay as you go platform generates profits for IBM. New technology is popping up all over the internet and Cloud seems to be on the rise. This is only scratching the surface on what is already available and what will become available throughout 2017. --- 3 Types of Cloud Computing Services - IaaS PaaS SaaS Explained https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36zducUX16w #CloudComputingServices #CloudComputing --- Follow us on https://www.facebook.com/EcourseReviews https://twitter.com/EcourseReviews https://plus.google.com/+Ecoursereview/posts https://ecoursereview.com/

Edureka demonstrated the highest standard of professionalism in delivering the course content and their support to me in helping complete the project has been exceptional. Thanks Edureka! ”
