New England [is/are] a great place for me to live because I can enjoy all four seasons. Each season [has/have] something special to offer. There [is/are] beautiful snowfalls in the winter, there [is/are] flowers in the spring, there [is/are] picnics in the summer, and there [is/are] the start of the hockey season in the fall. One of my favorite times of the year [is/are] when the leaves change. They [turns/turn] red, orange, yellow... We call it fall foliage (or “FOH-lee-ij” as some say). What you absolutely must see if you visit New England [is/are] the fall foliage. The colors [is/are] amazing.

Present Simple Verb Tense // English Grammar Practice (2018)

13:43
Now, that you know the rules of the present simple, how to form, and use the present simple. We're going to practice it. I'm going to give you some examples using a subject and a verb, and you're going to have to make different sentences in both positive negative and question form, so make sure you practice this exercise out loud. You can also do it again and practice writing the sentences as well. Present simple and present time We use the present simple to talk about: something that is true in the present: I’m nineteen years old. I’m a student. He lives in London. something that happens regularly in the present: I play football every weekend. something that is always true: The human body contains 206 bones. Light travels at almost 300,000 kilometres per second. We often use adverbs of frequency like sometimes, always and never with the present simple: I sometimes go to the cinema. She never plays football. Here are some useful sentences. Complete them so they are true for you and try to remember them: My name is … . I’m … years old. I come from … . I live in … . I’m a(n) … . I … at the weekend. I often … . I never … . Complete these sentences so they are true for a friend and try to remember them: His/Her name is … . She’s/He’s … years old. She/He comes from … . She/He lives in … . She’s/He’s a(n) … . She/He … at the weekend. She/He often … .
