Prayer For The Holy Souls In Purgatory

1204 ratings | 420288 views
In spanish https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOeIlzr-OWQ This is a very powerful and short prayer. All of us have relatives that have passed away and are unsure if they went to heaven, purgatory or hades. With this prayer we can help our deceased relatives shorten their time in purgatory and help free them! Purgatory is scriptured! If anyone does not believe in purgatory I challenge you to meditate on this topic. If you were baptized and are a spiritual person I'm sure you will be convicted by the Holy Spirit and guided in the right direction. I strongly believe in purgatory and I encourage everyone to read the info contained on the websites below and educate yourselves. Once I realized the importance of praying for the holy souls in prison (purgatory) I decided to make this short video so people can download this video and install it in there mp3 players and pray this daily as many times as possible. St. Gertrude http://www.olrl.org/pray/stgertrude.shtml http://www.ourcatholicprayers.com/prayers-for-souls-in-purgatory.html http://www.holysouls.com/prayers.htm http://www.catholictradition.org/Gertrude/saint-gertrude7.htm (2 Maccabees 12:38-45 NRSV Prayers for Those Killed in Battle 38 Then Judas assembled his army and went to the city of Adullam. As the seventh day was coming on, they purified themselves according to the custom, and kept the sabbath there. 39 On the next day, as had now become necessary, Judas and his men went to take up the bodies of the fallen and to bring them back to lie with their kindred in the sepulchres of their ancestors. 40 Then under the tunic of each one of the dead they found sacred tokens of the idols of Jamnia, which the law forbids the Jews to wear. And it became clear to all that this was the reason these men had fallen. 41 So they all blessed the ways of the Lord, the righteous judge, who reveals the things that are hidden; 42 and they turned to supplication, praying that the sin that had been committed might be wholly blotted out. The noble Judas exhorted the people to keep themselves free from sin, for they had seen with their own eyes what had happened as the result of the sin of those who had fallen. 43 He also took up a collection, man by man, to the amount of two thousand drachmas of silver, and sent it to Jerusalem to provide for a sin offering. In doing this he acted very well and honorably, taking account of the resurrection. 44 For if he were not expecting that those who had fallen would rise again, it would have been superfluous and foolish to pray for the dead. 45 But if he was looking to the splendid reward that is laid up for those who fall asleep in godliness, it was a holy and pious thought. Therefore he made atonement for the dead, so that they might be delivered from their sin.) Notice the noble Judas blessed the ways of the Lord and turned to supplication, praying to blott out the fallen soldiers of their sin. He took up a collection and provided for a sin offering. God says that in doing this he acted very well and honorably! If God says He acted very well and honorably in doing this why should we question it? For if Judas was not expecting them to rise again it would have been superfluous and foolish to pray for the dead but It was a holy and pious thought and he made atonement for the dead! God says that it was a pious thought and he (Judas) Made atonement for the dead! He didn't say he attempted to make atonement. Jesus Christ encourages us to pray for the holy souls that are suffering in prison in the new testament as well! People read this verse and think it refers to the prisons on earth but it clearly refers to the spiritual suffering in (prison) purgatory. (Hebrews 13: 3 Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; those who are being tortured, as though you yourselves were being tortured.) The word of God says those who are being tortured. The People in the prisons on earth are not being tortured! They eat 2 or 3 meals a day, watch tv. Lift weights and go out of the cells to the yard. (1 Peter 3: 18 For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit, 19 in which also he went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison, 20 who in former times did not obey, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water.) Jesus Christ went himself to make a proclamation to the holy souls in prison during the 3 days following His crucifixion on the cross. Christ visited the holy souls in prison (Purgatory) that had being there since the days of the building of the Arc way back in the book of Genesis 6:13-14! How many thousands of years was that to the date of Jesus crucifixion? He would not have gone to proclaim to the souls that had been in prison (purgatory) if it would have been in vain.

Purgatory levels of sufferings are only on this Earth. If you know the Holy Bible that visitation of Blessings and the curses and involvements on this earth are them. There are No any solution but the (NEW TESTAMENT AND THE LAMB OF GOD'S BLOOD COVENANT OF THE ETERNAL SALVATION OF OUR LORD AND THE SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST THE EVERLIVING ONLY.) If you all as Christians are of that faith in spirit and in truth!!! Yes, yes yes.

We need to pray for each other, whether on this side of death or the other. We all need to be kind and helpful to each other as we are all children of God, who is Love. I am sure the souls who are being purified will be grateful for our help to complete their purification. I look forward to a big celebration in Heaven!

Tim Svea here I go again reading again about purgatory and I had convinced myself against it and now my heart is beating rapidly with anxiety because I just don't know anymore since I just read that praying for someone who no longer is on earth is just a waste of time, I lost a special sister in law, my father in law, and my eldest sister at 56 all three of them within four months and I pray for them still to be in the Kingdom of God and I pray in the name of the son JESUS, my blood pressure must be high as my whole body is throbbing in disbelief my head hurts so bad I can't even focus my eyes, God bless everyone I'm more than upset I'm in shock

Adrianne listening to recordings of prayers help only if your hearing the prayer while it's playing. I also wondered at one time if just playing the prayers by themselves would help. When we pray we are sacrificing our time in the world for someone that needs prayers. Time is very precious and it is one thing that once we give we can not undo. It's a selfless act of love on our part so yes we do have to be listening to the prayer while it's playing. You don't have to necessarily be focused on the prayer and saying the words along, as long as you can hear the words it counts as praying. l'll tell you a secret how I pray when I go to sleep. I let the prayers go all night and sub consciously I'm meditating on the prayers all night and it counts! I have confirmed that it counts. So you can be focused and pray along with the prayer, or you can just hear the prayer while your driving around and going about your daily life even if your mind is wondering off. Or you can sleep all night as long as you can hear the prayers. You will receive blessing for praying and for sacrificing your precious time for others. Hope this answers your question. peace servantxc

i need to ask where in the bible does it said about purgatory because i cant not find nothing however the bible do said that a men is appointed to die once and them judgement. we can repent and accept christ to live a christian life according to the word of god. or not accept christ completely but accepting just. what we like and pretending to serve god when we want when we have time. if we have time. as some people said we dont read the bible they read for us at church you get the point. there is no purgatory it is only this life to fallow god or not if you continue in your sinfull ways and have no fear of god and dont believe his words you are comdemned already you will be try only once. once you die that is dont believe me search your bible is there in black and white. true believers not only accept christ the summit to the living words of god and share the good news of salvation with everyone

There is no purgatory. These sinners have had a lifetime to believe or ignore the bible, to believe that Jesus Christ washed away their sins thru his blood sacrifice on the cross. But for catholics, that wasnt enough, catholics wanted to do good works, as if God's sacrifice wasno t enough. That is BLASPHEMY. So you, sick devil, delete this video, you tell people that there is a purgatory, that is a LIE. That makes you a liar and a false prophet. That makes you a man who still refuses to be saved. But worse, you lead people astray with your false idea of purgatory. I REBUKE you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, you heretic.

FreeRhuna  There are actually books out there where a deceased person appeared to a loved one and requested prayers and Masses to be said to free them from the suffering in Purgatory. You have to research it. God gave you a brain to figure out the truth. Wouldn't you rather know the truth and understand it so you can be better prepared before you meet your Maker. God allows us to suffer while we are here on earth and Catholics call these sufferings our cross. It could be a cold, a flu, losing a job, stubbing your toe, even accepting ones death, anything that makes you feel discomfort. We accept and carry these crosses without complaint to purge our sinfulness. These crosses also lessen our time in Purgatory. We can pay for our sins during life, or we can go to Purgatory. God gives us Purgatory in His Mercy to make up pure and perfect for Heaven. We have to be spotless to be in His presence.
servantxc (2 years ago)
I've been very busy praying for the presidential candidates and praying that we get a pro life president. I'm happy to say we got him. Welcome Donald J trump our 45th president! FreeRhuna does a soul who has passed from this life and gone to hell have any chance or hope of ever getting out of hell and into heaven? The answer is NO. There is nothing lost souls in hell can do for their salvation anymore, there is nothing we on earth can do for them either. Anyone who reads the bible and is honest with themselves knows this very well. I’m sure both of us agree that hell is a one way ticket to eternal condemnation. (Job 7:9,10 As the cloud fades and vanishes, so those who go down to Sheol do not come up; 10 they return no more to their houses, nor do their places know them anymore.) (Revelation 14: 10 they will also drink the wine of God's wrath, poured unmixed into the cup of his anger, and they will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image and for anyone who receives the mark of its name.") Let’s move on the topic in question which is purgatory. (Matthew 12: 31,32 Therefore I tell you, people will be forgiven for every sin and blasphemy, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.) Here Jesus is clearly telling us there are sin that will never be forgiven either in this age or the age to come. Also He says there are sin that will have to be forgiven in the next age which is purgatory. We know that souls in hell have NO forgiveness; there is nothing we can do for them. But there are people who commit certain venial sins here on earth that will have to be forgiven in the next age. (1 Corinthians 3:10-15 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation and someone else is building on it. Each builder must choose with care how to build on it. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw 13 the work of each builder will become visible, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each has done. 14 If what has been built on the foundation survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If the work is burned up, the builder will suffer loss; the builder will be saved, but only as through fire.) St. Paul laid the foundation of Christ and we’re building on that faith ourselves. On these verses you see a soul that is being purified by fire who suffers loss but not eternal destruction of the soul because the soul is saved through the purifying fire. No one here on earth can go through fire be purified and be saved; anyone who attempts it will suffer death. Lost souls in hell are burning for eternity they have no hope of ever getting out. What place is left where a soul can be purified of their sins in the next life and be saved? A soul in heaven is already a Saint and has no need of being purified by fire. (1 Peter 3: 17-20 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if suffering should be God's will, than to suffer for doing evil. 18 For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit, 19 in which also he went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison, 20 who in former times did not obey, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water.) St. Peter makes a distinction between suffering for doing good and suffering for doing evil. Now pay close attention to v19 Jesus went and made a proclaimed to the spirits who have been in prison since the days of the building of the ark. Prison is purgatory there are souls that have been in purgatory since the building of the arc. Most people here on earth are in prison temporary and released. Jesus went to proclaim to souls in purgatory because they have hope that they will get out of prison. Ask yourself would Jesus waste his time by proclaiming to the souls in hell who have no hope of ever leaving? There are other verses I can point to you but I will only mention these (2 Maccabees 12:39-45) I ask that you meditate on all the verses carefully and I’ll pray the Holy Spirit guides you and increases your faith. Peace servantxc

No purgatory? Well that's comforting. Since Jesus already paid the price for my sins I can now go ahead and sin all I want ... just so long as I accept Him as my personal Lord and Savior. I am no longer responsible for my crimes. Jesus took that responsibility away! Just so long as I never turn away from Our Lord I will NEVER have to pay for any wrongs I do. But wait a minute. I seem to recall someone saying that we will not be let free until we have "paid the last farthing". Hmm... Oh well. Protestants KNOW, beyond all reasonable doubt, that the Holy Spirit doesn't teach the Church that Jesus instituted.

Maybe we do good works cause we love Jesus and appreciate His Death On that Tree, the bloody sweat, the 40-1 cat o' nine tails, no skin left lashes he took for our impurity, our sins, our evil, our hate, our ignorance, the cruel thorn tears in his head and brow, O Precious Jesus have mercy on me a sinner! The five would of nails and the spear! And our Blessed Lord Jesus he said "if ye love me ye will keep my commandments" and he commanded BELIEVERS to "Do good..." Jesus warned us we shall be judged "according to your works..." good, or bad.

There is no purgatory in the Bible, King James Version. It's a scam to scam people out of money. "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived." 2 TIMOTHY 3:3 KJV. Time is short before the rapture. Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven. Know and believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and sins of the world shed his blood and rose from the grave on the third day and went back to heaven to prepare a place. Turn away from your sins and admit your a sinner, confess and repent of your sins and ask forgiveness and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Personal Saviour. God will forgive your sins and after you get saved keep on asking forgiveness when you sinned.

Protestantism is a false man made faith. It was founded for the purpose of attacking the Catholic Church. That's why I left it. It does not have the living presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, It does not have his heavenly and personal visitations like his appearanceas the SACRED HEART, where he tells us of his burning LOVE 4 us. What does it have? ink on paper and a lot of hostility. Many prots may go there (I myself will probably as well)

Bosko Sawkmie there is no such place as purgatory, except in catholic mythology. ISAIAH 53:6,”ALL WE LIKE SHEEP HAVE GONE ASTRAY AND ON HIM WAS LAID THE INIQUITY OF US ALL” HEBREWS 7:27,”WHO NEEDED NOT DAILY LIKE THOSE HIGH PRIESTS,FIRST FOR HIS OWN SINS ,AND THEN FOR THE PEOPLES ,FOR THIS HE DID ONCE,WHEN HE OFFERED HIMSELF UP,ONCCE AND FOR ALL.” JESUS died on the cross for us so we could go to heaven.your “purgatory “is not needed. The catholic religion is based on things, rosarys, statues, masses, confession, etc, etc, etc. You have no heart knowledge of who JESUS is,or who GOD ALMIGHTY is. 2 Corinthians 5:8,”FOR WE ARE CONFIDENT I SAY AND WILLING TO BE ABSENT FROM THE BODY IS TO BE PRESENT WITH THE LORD”
Bosko Sawkmie (1 month ago)
+Dominic Without Purgatory, the heaven will be empty my friend cause no one is perfect like God and God says no one uncleaned can enter the kingdom of God. Revelation 21:27 states that nothing unclean shall enter heaven.

There is no such place as purgatory ! It is a “get out of jail free”,if you will, invented by the Catholics to keep Their constituents addicted to the rituals of the catholic”church”.the very concept of a place called purgatory Is in direct contradiction to the Bible.JESUS never spoke of purgatory, but HE spoke of the punishment of hell Continually.HEB.9:27,”IT IS APPOINTED UNTO MEN ONCE TO DIE,AND AFTER THAT THE JUDGEMENT.”

200 Words: Why I’m Not Roman Catholic by Nathan Busenitz If someone were to ask me why I’m not Roman Catholic, this would be my answer in 200 words or less: I believe the Roman Catholic church has seriously erred in three fundamental areas: in its approach to God, the Bible, and salvation. 1) In its approach to God, Roman Catholicism approves the veneration of (i.e. bowing down before) images and relics, encourages praying to the saints, and promotes Mary to a semi-divine status. All of these constitute varying forms of idolatry, which Scripture condemns (cf. Ex. 20:4–5; Lev. 26:1; Acts 10:25–26; Rev. 22:8–9). 2) In its approach to the Bible, Roman Catholicism elevates church tradition to a place of authority equal to (and in practice higher than) Scripture. The Lord Jesus condemned first-century Judaism as apostate because it likewise elevated the traditions of men above the Word of God (Mark 7:6–8). 3) In its approach to salvation, Roman Catholicism adds various sacramental works to the gospel of grace. In a similar way, the apostle Paul condemned the Judaizers because they added self-righteous works to the gospel (cf. Acts 15:1–11; Rom. 11:6; Gal. 1:6–9). These fundamental issues, in addition to a host of other doctrinal problems (e.g. purgatory, the papacy, priestly celibacy, indulgences, the Apocrypha, etc.) lead me to reject Roman Catholicism.

nuthajason, it's very obvious from your comments that you have cherry-picked what you want to believe the Catholic Church teaches, and judge what "you" believe her members feel when they pray, worship etc.. As a former self-proclaimed "nondenominational" Christian myself, I can assure you that you are dead wrong. Jesus said the gates of hell would not prevail against His Church. And Jesus prayed that His Church would be one (likewise, Paul wrote that we should be of one MIND and that there shall be no divisions among us). Now, do you believe the Father didn't answer His Son's prayer? God forbid. This means, nuthajason, that under the category of Churches in the Yellow Pages there should only exist ONE Church: Catholic. The one that history tells us is the only Church Jesus founded, and, that Scripture refers to as "katholikos". Sound familiar? It should. Now, as you told another person here, I likewise will not read a book from you, either. So no need posting one in reply. I also refuse to argue with ignorance. If you ever get the courage, however, to objectively study Catholicism from the Catholic Church alone then I'm always available for discussion. I strongly urge you to do so. I did and I can assure you that you do not know what you are missing by not worshiping in truth. God bless & heal. DL

of course it matters to me - I love you. and I know you are labouring under a false gospel. I will never stop trying to snatch branches from the fire. how can I live in God's grace knowing his love daily and repenting and rejoicing and being assured of my salvation and look upon the lost without pity. to remain silent would be hate.

One thing I want to know is since you're not a Catholic and not bound by any ties of respect for the Church, why is it such a big deal for you and so many other Protestants that you spend so much effort attacking Catholicism? You all do it. It's like we're some kind of thorn in your side that you just have to keep picking are. I've responded to your 200 word reasons for not being Catholic to defend my religion, but why do you bother? As much as I hope you will be saved by the infinite Mercy Himself, why does it matter to you so much that you feel the need to explain to the world why you are NOT something? After all, you're not in my religion and it's a free world so you can be whatever you want. Seems strange to me.
nuthajason (3 years ago)
bob, I don't need to get a dictionary. when I see people bowing to a statue, praying to a dead woman who is not equipped (is not omnipresent) to hear thousands of prayers at once (nor has the power to do anything about those prayers even if she could hear them), saying hail Mary over and over, calling her the queen of heaven and mother of God - when I read pope JP2s book on mark or read excerpts out of Ott's book - I see far more than merely veneration ( a feeling of awe, respect, etc.; reverence) I see worship (verb: show reverence and adoration, noun: the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration). interestingly there is no real difference in the dictionary. and you can be sure that God the Father doesn't bandy idle semantics. you will not stand before the throne of judgement and try to make a case for the fine meaning of the word when the action was the same. your argment that I have to be a catholic is weak. I have read and know ex catholics. I don't have to be a nazi to know what they believed and that it was wrong. and as for binding and loosing you have completely misread and misunderstood the meaning of that scripture.

John 3:13  Dead people don't went to heaven or purgatory, they will be burning or come in a grave, and have to wait for God's judgement!? Purgatory is only a catholic invention, because they made business with letters of indulgence!!! To pray for dead people is senseless, because they cannot hear, feel etc.! We cannot do anything for dead people and they can do nothing for us (look at Ecclesiastic 9:5-)!
Ralphy The collecter (2 years ago)
David in a battle pray for a long with his soldiers and offer sacrifices for dead soldiers who died in battle ,but died in a un righteous state.
Manfred Rehorn (3 years ago)
Sorry, but read Eccl. 9:5- about the condition from dead people; they wait in her graves for God's judgement or resurrection!
Christiene S.C. Bowden (3 years ago)
How did you know the dead no longer need our prayer, and that it is senseless to pray for them because they can no longer hear, or feel?  Has someone come back to tell you?

+servantxc Thank you for your Comment, but I know the truth! Purgatory was never God's intention, but after Harmagedon, his Judgement come, and bad people goes into the lake of fire burning with brimstone (second death)!? We will see it soon, because we live in the end of times!?

Purgatory is not a Catholic invention. Judaism which was around before Christianity also believe in a place like purgatory. The religion of Islam who came about 600 years after Christianity also believe in a place between heaven and hell like purgatory. So it is not a Catholic invention! It is actually the lack of faith in protestants who do not believe in purgatory. Protestants have only being around since the mid 1500 hundreds when an ex Catholic priest named Martin Luther removed the books from your old testament and started protestantism.  Martin Luther was excommunicated from the church and forbidden to practice religion because of his heretic ideas. The branch or denomination that you belong to is a small twig or branch who along the centuries at some point separated from the Catholic church which is the trunk of Christianity. (Ephesians 4:4-7 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all. 7 But each of us was given grace according to the measure of Christ's gift.) There is only 1 faith. As a mustard seed grows into a tree your faith also must grow. Your faith has not grown enough to accept purgatory and that is why you do not believe. (Matthew 16;18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.) Just as there is only 1 faith, there is also only 1 church! Do not kid yourself in thinking that all churches are the same. (Psalm 127:1,2 Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord guards the city, the guard keeps watch in vain. 2 It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives sleep to his beloved.) Will you wake up some day when it is too late to realize that what you did was in vain? I will pray that your faith and the faith of all like you increases and you accept the truth. (John 8:32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.") Peace servantxc

 a) Nowhere in Scripture does it say one will have to undergo "purification" after death. There is no detour to heaven. "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement." -Heb. 9:27 No amount of purification is necessary in a fictitious place called purgatory. When one accepts Jesus Christ as his Savior, he gets the "free gift" of Salvation, and is immediately justified. Justified means to "declare free from blame." If you are a born again believer, your justification is by the BLOOD (not a limited time in purgatory). There is no punishment for sin in the afterlife. Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." (Hebrews 9:12) Jesus literally and physically "sprinkled" His literal blood upon the Mercy Seat in the Heavenly Holy Place. God the Father is satisfied with the payment Jesus made for your sins. "Much more then, BEING NOW JUSTIFIED BY HIS BLOOD, we shall be saved from the wrath through him." -Rom. 5:9         "...by the righteousness of one [Jesus] THE FREE GIFT came upon all men unto JUSTIFICATION of life." -Rom. 5:18         "Being JUSTIFIED FREELY by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:" -Rom. 3:24 "And such were some of you: but ye are WASHED, but ye are SANCTIFIED, but ye are JUSTIFIED in the name of the Lord Jesus.." -Cor. 6:11 (b) To insist that one must go through purification after death before one can get to heaven, is to say the sacrifice of Christ on the cross was insufficient. This would wipe out many passages in the New Testament which tells us of our stand before God now, and after death. God says if you believe on Him, you will not come into condemnation: "...He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE, and SHALL NOT COME INTO CONDEMNATION; but is passed from death to life." -John 5:24 For a born again believer, to die is to gain and to be present with the Lord, not a limited time in purgatory: "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." -Phil. 1:21 "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." -2 Cor. 5 (c) Should you worry about a place called "purgatory?" Can it be found in the Bible? No. The Church itself ADMITS that it is their own invention. The Council of Trent took place in 1545 and approved this superstitious belief along with many others. The decrees were made by the council of MEN, not the God of the Bible. And those who would refuse to believe the decrees of Rome were under the threat of "anathema," and the curse has not yet been lifted to this day while they cry for unity with Bible believing Christians. The dead are either in heaven or hell        He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. - John 3:36 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. -Matthew 25:46 Is the wrath of God abiding on you today? Which will you choose? The real Jesus or the false christ of Romanism? To Think About... This Catholic idea of "being purified" (#954, p. 270) is interesting, because the church has yet to define exactly how many prayers, masses, and good works it will take to get one out of purgatory. What kind of contact does the Roman Catholic church have with God in order to know who made it to heaven and those who are still being purified? How do they know? To believe in a man-made doctrine is to refuse to believe God, who told you eternal life is a free gift. No where did He say you would have to suffer in the afterlife to get it. You get it NOW by BELIEVING ON JESUS CHRIST and what He did for you on the cross. Your sins were taken care of at the cross: past, present, and future.  You have been bought with a price, and that price required the BLOOD of God. "For ye are BOUGHT WITH A PRICE: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." -1 Cor. 6:20     "...feed the church of God, which he hath PURCHASED WITH HIS OWN BLOOD." -Acts 20:28 My friend, Jesus is God. He came down from Heaven and became a man to pay the price for your sins. He has no need for a place called purgatory, because He did it all! It only required ONE SACRIFICE, not yours in purgatory. Believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Once you do, you will be purged NOW of all sin. "...when he had by himself PURGED OUR SINS, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high." -Heb. 1:3 "There is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION to them which are in Christ Jesus," -Rom. 8:1

Jesus is Savior thank you, I was given the Catholic religion by my parents at birth, 55 yrs later I still choose to follow the Catholic religion until The Lord sends His angels for me but what I just read about purgatory finally made sense to me so I no longer need to learn about something that does not exist in our bible because God did not write it, although we are forgiven for our sins because we worship The God almighty, I believe that if we avoid sin to the best efforts we can The Lord will shower us with more blessings in all aspects of our lives here on earth on a daily basis, Praise our Lord and be righteous as He desires us to be because one thing for sure is our day of judgement which will be Heaven or Hell,

+servantxc If a person DIES IN THEIR SINS without the righteousness of Jesus Christ, they will be punished in the fires of Hell forever. Jesus paid for our sins so we wouldn't have to. Eternal life is a free gift (Romans 5:15; 6:23). Salvation is receiving, not giving. All we must do to be saved is acknowledge our guilt of sin and believe on Jesus Christ as the Son of God, our Savior, to forgive our sins and save us. We are saved by HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS (Matthew 6:33; 2nd Corinthians 5:21; Romans 10:3-4), i.e., the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ (Romans 4:6). All we must do is BELIEVE... “To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.” Every human being will one day stand before God in judgment. For those who are saved, Jesus Christ will be our attorney, Who has worked out a plea-agreement with the Prosecutor (God the Father) by means of HIS BLOOD SACRIFICE. We have been fully pardoned through Christ. For those who are unsaved, they will be summonsed to stand trial without a lawyer, and be judged according to their works, and will be sentenced to the Lake of Fire forever.

+gldesmarais9356 The Bible is very clear that some believers will barely escape the fires of Hell and receive no rewards at the Judgment Seat of Christ Not sure where you get the above statement from. No one escapes the fires of hell! Where do you get that from? Once you're in hades you're there  for eternity! There are many testimonies on you tube that testify about no escaping. Our topic is purgatory your getting the places mixed up. There are numerous testimonies on you tube where people have being allowed by Christ to visit and see the souls in purgatory. If you wish to be close minded about it that's on you. If you have decided to believe in what you have being thought in error that's your problem. The only way you can grow in faith is if you search the answers in the bible and pray that you continually grow in the truth & faith. There are many links to testimonies and bible verses I can point out to you but I don't have time sorry. I encourage you to keep searching with an open mind. You owe it to Christ to know the truth. Did He suffer so much in vain? Don't you know that even partial truth is a lie. (Ephesians 4:4-6 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.) There is only one faith it is not what you choose to believe pray that you accept the truth and grow in faith. I will keep you in my prayers  peace servantxc

+servantxc The Bible is very clear that some believers will barely escape the fires of Hell and receive no rewards at the Judgment Seat of Christ... 1st Corinthians 3:13-15, “Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” This passage of Scripture evidences that there are believers who choose to live selfishly for themselves, wasting their life here on earth; yet we read in 1st Corinthians 3:15 that “he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” Eternal life is a free gift, which cannot be merited in any way. Salvation is received, not achieved. Salvation is of the Lord, freely offered and freely received by faith in the Son of God. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” —Romans 12:1 Some have tried to say that Christ preached during this time to those in Torment, giving them a second chance.  The Verse they use to support this is found in 1st Peter 3:19: "By which also he (Christ) went and preached unto the spirits in prison."  It is unbelievable to what extremes some will go, mutilating the Word of God, extracting one Verse and trying to make it fit their own ideologies.  If this were true, then it would contradict Luke 23:43, for the lost are in Torment, not Paradise.  Now let us look at 1st Peter 3:19 and 20 together to understand the context. "By which also he (Christ) went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water." In also referring to Genesis 6:3, we find that God waited 120 years before sending the flood.  The purpose of the flood judgment was that "God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart, was only evil continually."  In other words, Christ, through the Holy Spirit in Noah, preached to those imprisoned in their sin and warned them of the judgment (flood) which was to come in 120 years. The Scriptures in 1st peter 3 are referring to the flood and have no reference to where Christ went when He died.  There are no second chances after death.  A person's destiny is determined while he is living and he cannot reverse it after he dies.  In Matthew 25:46 we are told "and these (the lost) shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into life eternal."  If one could ever be saved after they die, then everlasting would cease to be everlasting.  One might also consider the rich man in Torment in Luke 16.  This man believed after he was there, as he wanted someone to go back and warn his five brothers.  Even though he believed, he still could not get out of Torment.

+gldesmarais9356 You don’t sound sure of my question. Maybe I should reword the question. Does a soul who has passed from this life and gone to hell have any chance or hope of ever getting out of hell and into heaven? The answer is NO. There is nothing lost souls in hell can do for their salvation anymore, there is nothing we on earth can do for them either. Anyone who reads the bible and is honest with themselves knows this very well. I’m sure both of us agree that hell is a one way ticket to eternal condemnation. (Job 7:9,10 As the cloud fades and vanishes, so those who go down to Sheol do not come up; 10 they return no more to their houses, nor do their places know them anymore.) (Revelation 14:10,11 they will also drink the wine of God's wrath, poured unmixed into the cup of his anger, and they will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. There are other verses I can point to you but I will only mention these (2 Maccabees 12:39-45) I ask that you meditate on all the verses carefully and I’ll pray the Holy Spirit guides you.   Peace servantxc

I hope everyone can download this and other prayers specially the rosary. We can help empty purgatory by downloading this video and letting it play all night while we sleep. Working all day on our job during the day and praying all night. Imagine the gratitude of each soul that we help free from purgatory. They will return the favor by praying without ceasing on our behalf! We need to help free these souls that are waiting to be united with Christ as saints so they can aid in our prayers. Some souls have been waiting in purgatory (prison) since the building of the ark 1 Peter 3:18-20

Please Kindly see thewarningsecondcoming dotcom "Heresy will be presented to the masses as part of a new constitution in My Church, which has nothing to do with Me. All will clamour to accept this, for they did not remain alert to the times, which they were warned about, concerning the lead up to the Great Day. Now you must prepare for this Day. You must walk away when My Divinity is challenged, as it will be in many ways, within My Church on Earth. Engage with My enemies and you will not win. Ignore them. Pray for their souls and prepare your own, for soon it will all be over. Your Jesus"

We should ALWAYS PRAY for the souls in Purgatory, specially for those who have no one to pray for them. Do acts of sacrifices and fasting and offer it for all the souls in Purgatory, for one day...they will return what you've done for them. Pray for them, and they will do pray for YOU! Isnt that wonderful???? God bless us all!
